This is such a sad, bereft, poignant and ultimately redemptive story. I was so moved by your love and dedication to your father as a teenager, shattered to read of his death and its unfortunate timing, and uplifted to read of your counselling career and thinking about its significant impact for all of your clients and their families. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Thank you for being such a careful reader of this story. It had several different directions it could have taken. -Bill Stephenson

You're very welcome - and I imagine there are several other stories in there if you feel it's appropriate to develop them.

I am so, so sorry that your father passed on just before Christmas. Know that I am here for you always. Apart from that, this was such an emotional piece of literature that would definitely make your father proud.

I don't know if this is a true story or not but it touched my heart. I am going to assume it's true and say I'm sure it is snd I was glad to read you found his site and marker.
It reminds me if the final resting place of my parents. Even in good weather, sometimes it's hard to find their spot. It always feels a moment of relief when I finally find it.
Your father sounds like he was a wonderful person. Thanks for sharing this story with us and good luck in the contest.

I wonder if I could ever make up a story about my father. Yes, this a true story and I have many more that I will write about my relationship with my father.
Thank for a wonderful review. Merry Christmas, Bill Stephenson

Of course you know already that this delightful work defines you so much, and I envy you, because it led you to the deep, worthwhile occupation that you share with others, I was always close to you through your writings, of course Jesus has the best relationship with His, causing Him to be defined as His father's loving image, reflect on that for a while Bill, beautifully written, blessings Roy

I feel like we have picked up where we left off. You are my "best friend" on this website. Every time you review anything of mine I feel enriched and encouraged. If you get a chance, take a look at these two websites. "Hope" has won six book awards and is in its third printing and has been translated and circulated in Spanish and German. "Sunrise" is in big demand in Australia and they want the book put in hardback. Crazy times.
Roy, would you mind telling me what part of the country you live in? My email address is stephenson2789@gmail.com

My address is in South Australia, in the middle, down the bottom Bill. Congrats on your books, that?s wonderful.
-
If I ever get to Australia, you're on my list of "to do's."

You?ll be most welcome

I am so grateful to have someone like you who encourages me to work harder to get to a new level of writing. I remember when I was seeing patients who were terminally ill, especially the kids, that I wrote to work through the grief that I carried from each one of them. Now, I write to challenge the reader to reflect on something I wrote that touches their lives. This story has caused reviewers to want to share their story with me to the point that I could set up a group therapy session.
Take care old friend. -Bill

I?ve think you?ve succeeded in achieving what God requires of you Bill, and you will get better.

Teri, those great things did happen to me throughout my career. But I am now retired and devote my time to writing. I have written four books on my work with the terminally ill. -Bill Stephenson.
