What an excellent job you have done, Rachelle, with the in depth questions that were thoughtfully crafted and how easy it was to go from your dialogue to Debbie's answers in the red font. That was great and effective. I enjoyed reading more about her and thank you very much for showcasing her in this write! Well done.

... and here I sit like a frog on a log hoping beyond hope she stops writing so much to give the waifs out here a chance of posting a win-show or place. Just kidding. Interesting interview and congrats are well-deserved for your subject gal.

What a stunning tribute to Debbie and a fabulous insight into how another writer's mind ticks! I could resonate with so many of Debbie's responses concerning the site and you asked such deep, intelligent questions to prompt her terrific answers. As a fellow teacher, I had a giggle at the "apple-polisher" line - that has always been me, too! Glorious work here, Rachelle - I really enjoyed this piece and felt that I learned a great deal. Kudos!

From one apple-polisher to another, thank you, Navada!
And thanks for the additional * today, too!! xoxox

You're so welcome. I really enjoyed your interview with Lea Tonin, too. Have you done any others?
-
Just one. Michaela Moore. That one was way back, but it's in my portfolio.

I'll check it out. Thanks! :)

Thanks for doing this Rachelle. Another wonderful interview and with another of my favourite people. You get properly to grips with her talent and write in a lively and most entertaining manner. Well done!

I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about Debbie D'Arcy, a fellow British writer whose work I enjoy reading very much! You have asked some very interesting questions Rachelle and I can totally relate to Debbie suffering from 'imposter syndrome' as I have this in my work as a nurse as well as in my ability to write!! Well done.

Lol. It's always the best writers that have Imposter Syndrome, whereas the less-accomplished "peacocks" bask in every morsel of positive feedback, never considering for a moment it's not deserved.

Good morning, Rachelle and Debbie!
What a smorgasbord of deliciousness to learn more about you, Debbie, under the well-formed and pertinent questioning of you, Rachelle!
I so enjoyed both aspects.
My son-in-law is from Chester, England, and we definitely traveled to Wales on a number of our visits to England. What I saw of Wales on my travels is, indeed, beautiful.
I also smiled when I learned that you were once a probation officer, Debbie. I hold an undergraduate degree in social work, and a lifetime ago, I considered becoming a social worker in our town. Actually, I interviewed to be the Friend of the Court. Made it to the final round of interviews, but backed out as I knew that my true love was in teaching writing and literature to high school students. And as luck would have it, my entire career was geared toward teaching the "walking wounded" although I am certain that they taught me far more than I taught them.
Congratulations, Debbie, on all of your well-deserved accolades and accomplishments.
So very pleased our paths have crossed; you are an amazing writer!
Thank you for sharing, Rachelle,

You have certainly, most certainly, done your homework on this one. You have been so thorough that I actually feel that I know Debbie now. That was the point after all, right? And knowing her makes me enjoy her posts so much more.
Hope everyone reads this.

I've never been disappointed with Debbie's work, Rachelle. She is accomplished and brilliant.
Her poetry is beautiful, and her formats and subject matter are extremely difficult. It SEEMS she executes it with ease.
This is a great interview and, in my eyes, an important one of inspiration and the realization that there is never an ending lesson to the learned craft of writing.
Thank you, Rachelle and Debbie! Best, JohnC

I love her work as well. She did a piece on a certain singing star that I've never cared for and then I went back and listened to the music after reading her poem. It somehow sounded different. Maybe she should be a talent promoter as well. Very nice interview, my talented Yankee friend. Keep em coming. Gretchen

SAME HERE!!! I always thought "ugh" every time I heard the words "Willie Nelson," yet she made me really APPRECIATE him. That's a great suggestion: talent promoter! You're always thinkin', Ms. Hargis!! xoxox
