This is a lovely story of a dog that was rescued in more ways than one and found a true home. I like the rhyming couplets idea that you have used and the rhyming is good throughout.There are just a couple of small errors, ie it should be 'dad's heart' not dads heart and some of the lines don't quite make it to your 14 beats. Nevertheless, it is a great poem so good luck in the contest

Thanks so much Eleri, for your great review and comments for my story poem for our Rascal. I appreciate what you are saying as my meter may be off in some of the lines. I must have changed them a hundred times to try to make something work. It is not easy to stay on meter, syllable count and say it exactly how it needs to be said to make sense. So I do thank you for understanding of that and your kind words.
