What a marvellous monorhymed entry in this odds and evens contest and form created by Yvette Rogers. This is a great, of course Jude is an endearing term for fool, in the land of the Beatles, whose birthplace I share, good luck, blessings Roy

Hi Roy, you are so kind. Thank you for the thoughtful words for my Hey Jude poem. It is so appreciated,. Yes Jude is that, but is also the Apostle Thaddeus? other name or a boy?s name in Hebrew. However I used the name as a catchy title that everyone could relate to. You caught me my friend! Lol

Good job

I certainly can relate to this one, mystery poet. I was bullied by a boy I rejected in seventh grade. His like/love/ infatuation with me turned to stalking and bullying immediately afterwards. It was awful. Unfortunately I told no one, and he preyed upon me when I was alone, in the outer school areas, kneeling to open my locker... where he'd shove me into the metal. He'd follow me on weekends too, one day coming home from the record store. His words were rude, crude, lewd and belittling.
It finally came to a head in front of God and Country at a football game. I literally picked him up to move him out of my face, and his lost his balance and fell down the bleachers. After that day, he never did anything to me again. Nothing. I forgave him later and two years later he was killed in a bike accident. He was only 15. Anyway, I didn't mean to go off, but this is important as bullying has become an epidemic these days, and cyber bullying too.
Thank God I had a best friend who'd drawn close to me during the time and finally caught wind of what was happening to me. Many today don't have what I had.
Your poem speaks of the same and amends at the end. A wonderful reminder of the power of kindness and good friends.
Sending you my best today as always, and my very best wishes for the upcoming contest.

Aw, it's hard to overcome shyness, but if you can and go and join in, laugh at yourself, then soon the taunting will stop. There's no fun in teasing if your prey isn't affected. This is a wonderful contest entry, and I wish you the best of luck. :) Sandra xx

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt entry with us. I enjoyed the poetic form. There some bullies while I was growing up, I'm 69, but it seems in today's world there are a lot more, or at least we hear more about it. Not sure which.

This is excellent! I have to admit I was expecting this poem to be a tribute to the Beatles since your title says Hey Jude! So it was a pleasant surprise to read an even-the-odds poem with monorhymes done as well!
This instead speaks of bullying and how it can and will be altered by the one who is bullied taking the bull by the horns and welcoming the bullies in open arms!

You did an excellent job meeting the requirements of the contest. The picture illustrated it well, and the poem taught a good lesson for children that they would easily understand. Good luck in the contest.

What a great message! The author's words are clear, descriptive and creative. I liked how the author brought Jude's friendly mood into changing the other kids attitude! Amazing - this also works with adults! The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is awesome! Great poem!

This was a difficult prompt, and you handled it very nicely. Then to top it off, you rhymed every line. You must have spent some time on this one. You should do well in the contest.
