It would be interesting to try to determine when the word 'love' was first applied to utilitarian objects, like bikes, like cameras, like fishing rods, like shoes. I think this use of the verb is probably of American origin, since this is the land of the free and the materialistic. I guess it's harmless, although I"m not sure it really is okay to have one's mind so bent around by the pursuit of objects. And comfy shoes? What's not to love?
LIne 8 and 9 have a verb agreement problem: 'it' in line 9 should be 'they,' or use a plural noun.
This is a poem of statements: the walking flats are this, that, the other, and so on. Objects are more interesting when their physical status is a history of their use 'there's a hole in the toe but you know I don't wear 'em anywhere in a tuxedo.'
There are some humerous (note spelling) lines in this poem: shoes called flat cause the author to imply that she wishes her bosom were like that, or at least moreso. I would like to see a poem like this in a limerick form: 'There once was a sneaker I wore every day/ but in the winter, I'd put it away.' And so on.

My dear Frank, you should read the author's notes and the classification of the poem before reviewing. Also you don't know enough about a person who has been crippled for years and maybe just wants to walk again. However that isn't the important as much as the fact that this is a humerus answer to one that was written called "I love my high heel shoes." I could care less about the shoes because it was all explained in the words, humor and as a joke to the one who wrote the other poem. The other key word is Circus Poem. Which is crazy with the way the subject is explained through the poem. It is supposed to be called they, it shoes, flats, my dream someday, whatever. It is the format of the poem. It is not your regular poem. I don't like being rude at all so I will just leave it at that.

I loved, loved, loved your flat walking shoe poem. This was a gushing ode to a pair of shoes that seemed more like a friend than a fashion accessory. Great job making them feel like a part of a super power. Walking faster, walking farther. Well done. Gretchen

Thanks so much Gretchen for such an awesome review. I pretty much wrote it to poke fun at Sally for her Circus Poem, "I love my high heel shoes." I do look forward to wearing them in the Spring, but for reason's that i can't disclose because you would catch on and know my identity. I truly appreciate your always sweet comments my dear friend. Thanks again.

This is such a great choice for an ode . We can all relate to having a favorite pair of shoes that we have worn out from constant wear. Your description of why you miss them, the flow and the humor all combine to make this such an enjoyable read. Good luck in the contest!

This is absolutely too much fun, mystery poet! I love those airy, blue shoes you have there. Hey dude, I want some! You've basically described my uniform. T-shirt, skinny jeans and sneakers. Don't forget earrings!
A six for this enchanting poem. Delightfully colorful and beautifully presented in Ode form. So very impressive!
Sending you my best today as always and six stars to bless,
Sally Law :)) XOs

Thanks so much Sally for such a sweet review of my ode to your Circus Poems and thanks for letting me have a little answer to your C. poem, with a little high heel humor. Actually I only look forward to walking shows next Spring for one reason and I will tell you what that is after the contest is over. Thank you also my sweet friend for the lovely comments and the gift of six stars, as I appreciate it so very much.

You are very welcome! I will be watching for the contest too. Best wishes with this darling entry! Sally :)) XOs

You made me feel like,e a queen! Thank you so much. Mainly, the circus poem is a fun poem with a particular subject brought in view and expounded upon. You captured that in your idea perfectly. My best best in all your endeavors, dear poet. Blessings, Sal xoxo's

Thank you so much Santha. This is more so a little bit of humor poking a little fun at Sally's "I love my High Heel Shoes," Circus Poems. I love that style of poems and they are so much fun to write but this one I just had to have a little fun with her. I am looking forward to wearing my walking shoes again for a reason I can't disclose right now or you would know my identity. But after the contest you will know what I mean. Thanks again my dear friend for such lovely comments.

Lol. Very humorous and funny, especially concerning pieces of your anatomy which you wish were a bit flatter (NOT fatter). Made me smile. Best wishes in the Ode contest.

I?m sure I know your identity anyway, but I won?t check. Your humour and writing style and lovely nature are precious and unique. Hugs.

Having comfortable feet reverberates through our body and feels good. A casual style with flat shoes here spells relaxing weekends with friends, I enjoyed the journey, love Dolly x

Thanks Dolly, but a little satire meant here towards Sally's Circus Poem,
"I Love My High Heeled Shoes." I thought it would be kind of fun to poke a little fun at her after that hilarious poem she posted yesterday. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate your sweet review. Thanks my dear friend!
Comment from Bill Schott
This ode, I Love Those Flat Walking Shoes, makes a case for these stylish and comfortable footwear items. It may be the weather, or it may be the feet that have them hung up now.

Bill, you are right on both accounts. Hung up the feet for a while and the shoes, but will hopefully be back using both again by next Spring. Thanks for the kind review and comments my dear friend.

Well, I see nothing wrong with writing an ode to your favorite shoe. If you can't love what protects your feet, and with style and comfort what can you love. This is very well crafted and a fun read.
Good luck in the contest.

I thank you so very much Lancellot! I appreciate your kind comments about my little bit of satire for Sally's Circus Poems and her poem, "I Love my High Heeled Shoes. It was fun writing in a little different format for a change. Thanks again for the awesome review my friend!

Funny for sure. Question- fifth line, did you intend to repeat 'even my even my'
What are your Hey Dudes? Just out of curiosity. I thought you did a nice job. The anatomical tie-in was rather clever. Fun

Hey my awesome friend, thank you so much for the save. After proofreading over and over, I am amazed how that happens. So I appreciate it and have already fixed that double on line 5. Hey Dudes are a popular type of lounging shoe.. usually in corduroy and costs about $50.00. Very comfortable, but not for walking. This is a Circus poem that has fun tangled lines that Sally made up. They are so fun to write. She wrote one called I love my high heel shoes, so I thought I would be funny and do the opposite.
Thank you my sweet friend for your lovely comments too. I truly appreciate it and your help.
