A powerful little poem. A child blames themselves for the war and bombing. Praying to God to stop the war, and the child will be good. That is a strong image. Good luck in the contest. Terry.

Thanks, Terry. If this child survives the war, imagine the scars that will take a lifetime to heal.

An excellent poem. So beautifully written,
So simple and to the point. I love it. I am not sure that it fits the criteria of the competition rules I hope I'm wrong. Good luck. Jen.

Thanks, Jen. It doesn't matter to me if it is disqualified. It just came to me in a matter of minutes.

These are very sad words and no child should be suffering like this. War is such a terrible place for children to be found and they will always suffer in these circumstances. Your words are endearing and empathetic here, good luck with the contest, love Dolly x

This is heart wrenching to the maximum. The picture tells it all. My God, this has to stop. This is so unfair. This is a great awareness. The world has gone completely mad. Have a great day, if you can. Thank you.

I really liked this poem, about how it must be for a child to be caught up in that horrible and cruel war Russia has imposed on Ukraine. It makes me so angry and at the same I weep for all those poor people who are being assaulted by such a despicable aggressor. I wish you the best of luck. Ulla:)))

I would give 6 stars if I had one to give. I feel so helpless, and I know that these children will be scarred for life - if they survive. I have no means of understanding how anyone can commit the atrocities that we're hearing about on the ground, and how Putin and his military commanders can toss these children aside like garbage.
Your poem is beautiful.

Hello Friend,
It's a nice piece of Spiritual Poetry beautifully depicting the promise, and prayer on the part of a Ukraine's child.
Lucid as well as PERFECTLY matching the theme phraseology; smooth flow throughout from the beginning to the end with lovely rhyming scheme.
Picture enhances depth and beauty of the poem.
BEST OF LUCK in the contest.

Wish I could give you a Six Stars review. Yes, it is wonderful, heart-wrenching, and emotional - and very well written. You have written it on behalf of a child, and I am sure it is on behalf of millions of children. Best wishes for your entry.

This is well written and well presented. The photo arrested me straight away. The topic is relevant and timely. The rhymes work well and don't feel forced. The sentiment is heartfelt.

Thanks, K.L. It is always the children who suffer most.

While I think this is very well crafted and tells of terrible things happening to children in Ukraine. I do wonder if this is not more of a poem 'about' children, then it is a poem 'for' children.
Good luck in the contest.
