I love this rondeau! It can be a complicated form that ends up sounding stilted and unnatural. But you did a superb job in painting a beautiful picture of sunset in the countryside with perfect rhythm and rhyme. Should do well in the contest. I don't think I will even enter this one!

A beautifully written poem. The rhyming is so skillfully done. You have created a magicalimagery. Whether you're sitting on the beach, hiking in the mountains, or even relaxing in a rocking chair on your own front porch, watching a breathtaking sunset never gets old. Thanks for sharing.Good luck!

I love this format when it is so masterfully used! This is beautiful, my friend...*sigh*... Just what I needed to read before trying (yet again) to retire for the night. The ambiance evoked is pure serenity!
Best of luck in the contest. (Gorgeous artwork you chose too.)

Below, the first two lines really pulled me into the poem. The poem is excellently worded and beautifully rhymed. The image of twilight is stunning. Great job!

The Rondeau is a challenging form! So often that refrain can weigh like an anchor. Not so with this ebullient, serene, and elegant poem
In celebration of nature!
Perfect image selected to enhance already brilliant rhyme and verse!
Shall I put the champagne on ice?
Reads like a winner to me!

Hi Sugarray,
This is absolutely beautiful! A Rondeau? It seems complicated. I am learning all the different poetry forms here on FanStory and this one seems difficult. You did a superb job on this and your lovely words flow smoothly and I can feel what we speak. The emotion conveyed was to slow down and admire the coming twilight as the earth prepares for night.
I felt as though I was there :-). Good luck!

This is such a gorgeous poem. I love all your nature poems and you took on a challenging form like the rondeau to express these subtle changes from daylight to twilight. Hope you do well in the contest!!

Hello Liz. Thank you very much. I am so happy that you liked it. This Rondeau was difficult for me? took me two weeks to get it right. Ugh! Thanks and many hugs!
