Hello Damommy, what a fine tribute to a son who is obviously the apple of your eye. You have met the challenge Sparkle beautifully and could not have put your words to better use. This a lovely free verse for a lovely son who has a sparkle in his brown eyes.
He lives for others,
and nothing shows it more
than the sparkle

What a family you are! You look after the abandoned and broken animals and birds and your son does the same for people. This is a lovely paean for a deserving subject. You get into the depths of the sparkle, not just the froth on the top of the champagne glass.

A very well-written free verse poem about the sparkle you see in your son's eyes cannot be compared to any other thing that sparkle because it is more precious than any artificial sparkle.

a nine-year-old daughter is very endearing.

    Thank you so much. He's a sweetie. But he's struggling with the loss of his brother as much as I am. He thought they'd always be together as they always had been.

The eyes are the mirror of the soul said some philosopher. I find in this time of having to wear masks, people are having to "smile with their eyes" it they can. It sounds like your son has already mastered this!
