Hello, Yvette,
I don't know why, this poem reminds me of Alice in wonderland :) it's a fantastic poem and the presentation is beautiful. Well done my friend. I see you're getting into the groove.

This is absolutely delightful! It would be disrespectful to write a review for something that stands so wholly on its own. A real 10! Perfect work.
I'm in awe!

Hi Yvette, yes, I know what you mean, yet it is still something confined to memory. Although, something is back to normal here not all is, and what you're describing belongs to some distant past. I would love to be stressed out again. Ulla:)))

Powerful quatrains for the contest. You used good creative imagery and visuals, your artistic presentation and artwork are amazing.
This should do very well in the contest, good luck in the booths.

Oh, Banana Splits! Sticky Buns with the sauce is a close second. This writing conjured up all sorts of strange sights in my mind's eye and were enjoyed muchly. (new word for today...)

Shroomin' again! Alice went through the looking glass and voila! Whimsical imagery provides refreshing escape from Coronaphobia; alas even in Wonderland, masks are still required. Cheers. LIZ
Congrats on your prize!

This speaks to me in the style of Lewis Carroll and has the perfect balance of whimsy and fantasy. The feeling is uplifting, carefree and beautifully crazy. Love the imagery and the rhyme scheme. Great choice of picture, too! Very well done!

Never apologize for a response, slow or not--we all have complicated lives and competing schedules. Take good care of yourself as you support your father- Joan

Yvette,
You know, you scare me. *smile* You really, really do. I know - there is so much here. I have read this poem countless times - because I really want to get it. Sometimes I think I'm close... *smile* ...and then I'll read a line that pushes me off again.
I feel like it's a statement, a political piece, maybe? The Monarch, the masks, the sticky buns and the jail time and paints and the pits and the tolls... But then I'll read the line about the pontoon and I'm like - no, she just wants to drive me crazy.
So, I'll be happy when you explain this - if you decide to. Hurry back. We miss you.

You know, I started out like that and it was there in the mix, but I didn't stick to it as much as I could have simply because there was so much else crowding my brain at the time - lol! ;) :) Good morning, Robyn -- apologies for the delay, but thanx so much for the smiles, my lady!! ;) Take care out there as summer closes and Fall rolls in this month! ;) Yvette

Hmmm . . . ! This is a wonderful poem--a colorful, appealing blend of whimsy and deep thought--well, semi-deep thought, anyway. (1) I would almost be willing to dangle over a pit to have a banana split. I haven't had one for years. (2) My driver's license picture looks like a mug hot!
LOL! (3) Could we make the kite candy apple red? Seriously, I love your poem. It rocks!
