Beautiful reflections upon soul's birth in meaningful verses; along with soul we are the only creation given the power of reasoning and man uses this reasoning to either corrupt the soul or purify; good luck!

A very well-written poem about the birth of a soul that is pure and white with no stains, the best time for a soul on earth. After a few years sometimes the soul big hurt if misused and it has to be cleansed by the blood of the lamb once again.

Your poem made me think of something I like to say, "we all die, but what matters most, is what we do while alive." Although no one intends to die, if we can change life for the better. That life had meaning.

I love the profound depth of your writing. The Divinity endowed at birth is such a beautiful and valid thought. With this picture which is a hint of Mother Theresa, your portrayal is superlative.

Ralf, I delight in your connection with the tight graphic and the message intended.

Your poem is skillfully and creatively composed and vividly descriptive. I think we had a soul while still in the womb. Anyway, your poem is thought-provoking and lovely.

Janice it is probably true that the soul aspect is perking in the womb and perhaos that first breath allows the cry of JOY.

You've written an excellent poem for the contest.
A few small suggestions for clarity:
Beginning with that very first
whisper of a breath Divinely given[,]
each and every being upon arrival
into this plane we call earth
is born with a uniquely assigned burst
of selfhood mixed with a cosmic vision [of]
compassion and a passion built for survival[--]
a being filled with so much love, so much mirth!
To have such a life, given this substance, a thirst[,]
means that this person has a depth deeply driven
making every new day a welcomed revival
because a soul was embedded in this being at birth!
Nicely done.
Best wishes to you.

Your words and phrases, complemented by the picture you have chosen, have combined to be a perfect description of a soul. Impossible to hold, incredible to glimpse as a child is born, a soul is the ultimate gift from God that should be treasured throughout life. I loved reading this.
