Comment from Judy Lawless
This commentary almost perfectly describes what I have taken from this pandemic too. Every time some new disaster hits us, I think 'Mother Nature (or maybe God) is made at us again. When will we learn?' This is very well written Cogitator. I have hope that some of the changes we were forced to make will stick, but already there are signs of people returning to their old habits. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for sharing this post. Our society and especially our government are in a horrible mess. I see no way out either. I keep praying. Where there's
prayer hope. Keep writing and sharing. It helps.

This commentary is well written. One can only hope that some lessons have indeed been learned by everyone about life.
You use the common essay format which works well. The language and images are strong. The flow is good. The conclusion is succinct.
Thanks for sharing. A good read.

Interesting and thought provoking, the only thing that occurs to me is to wonder if there is a place that government/scientists and people might join together that could work for the common good? I don't know. Good job.

I'm not going to pick apart each part, as it is a lengthy story. I want to tell you this is so wonderfully written, I hope many people read it and get the point. I have to admit I love the part where we turn the TV off when we see his face. I've been there for a while. This is wonderfully written, very heartfelt, and very hopeful. Thank you.

I find that your words ring true, Cogitator. While the world weeps those with power still abuse the weak. Crime is down for most are sick but new devils roam the street. Covid will settle the score, for money is nothing but toilet tissue to be used. Good story. Thank you for sharing.

I think you pretty much covered it all. I recalled reading how where pollution is or was a real problem in India is going away. They are looking up and seeing a crisp blue sky. Nice touch!

I think this is a well written sci fii story.
Very nicely done and it is easy to see why it is in the running for the Story of the Month.
Well done and good luck.

Cogitator! Thanks for this clear letter to Virus. Not all your points of view are also mine, but most of them are, and all are written in a clear, well-written way. Understandably, critical and cynical. Point for point, precise
and in my mind, there are no misunderstandings.
I am glad I have read this.

Hi Cogitator, I don't think a week is long enough for those of us in the greediest country in the world to honestly get over it. People still need to get used to 'working from home' teaching from home, doing those things that they can do together, that they CAN do together. Things we used to do together. Wouldn't it be nice to have kids playing in the streets again like in the 70s? (no more fear of skinned knees... not to mention kidnappings and jail for parents for putting their kids in danger of skinning said knees!) ;)
