When people are young, they may be unrealistic, having SO many dreams, perhaps too many to fulfill in a lifetime. Then they look back . . . wondering what happened. God has a plan for each of us; we can trust His plans--AND His timing--as your well-written, lovely poem says.

I just want to thank you for taking the time to read and review my poem. Thank you so very much for those five beautiful stars. ?Waiting in the weeds? is my autobiographical challenge at this time in my life. Some would call me old, I just want to think I?m experienced LOL I also want to think that I am prepped for a whole new field of endeavor that is really my destiny. I?m glad you felt like you could relate to a voice that tells you, you too have more in you and it?s not too late. God isn?t done working, and you are a part of his plan. God bless you, embrace the love from above.

Wow - combined with your excellent poem - that picture pops. So true, we often feel we're stuck in tangles we'll never escape. Good job. God plans for us may not make sense at times. But He cares.

It is a good thing to think ahead - even as we age - we still have things to do, and I thank God for that.

Hello Dr Nad, this is a rather sad poem, but you are not alone. I think everyone feels like their dreams have been put on hold. I'm not too happy myself at the moment. You've been a member since 2014 yet I have only just seen you on FS. Your poem is a lovely read. I like work that speaks from the heart, holding nothing back. The poem reads well with good abcb rhyme consistent throughout. 'Were we wrong concerning our dreams? Of course not! Without dreams our life would be worthless - you can't run a car without fuel. Dreams are our fuel. Great picture LOL! Good Luck in the contest. Warm regards Dorothy x

Wow! This poem was really well written all the way through and especially relatable to me as a person! My last 3-4 years have not been so good because of depression and anxiety and they have actually put my life and dreams on hold! I have been trying to get back on my feet for a few months now but things seem much harder than before now!
This piece is really well written and a perfect entry for the contest! Best wishes to you and have s good day! :-)

Well, if you are old and experienced then call me young and inexperienced! ;-)

I think we can really bounce off our similar ideas off each other and have good discussion related to things that we both have written! :-)
Best wishes for your writings :-)

I understand what you mean by Anticipating so much more.
It feels like our wheels are spinning. WE can't seem to locate the door. I joined Fanstory in 2018 and just started posting late last year. As I Pastor I also realize as you last stanza states - OUR task is to wait for HIS time. God Bless you as you continue forward in His time.

Don't I know thAt feeling of waiting in the weeds. And then there's just doing something to feel productive and make the world a better place, yet still not feeling you're doing what you're supposed to be doing. But then maybe a little quiet time will help. You captured this dilemma very well.

Excellent photo to accompany this well written rhyming poem. Sometimes our dreams are put on hold and sometimes it works out for the best when they are put on hold. Sometimes we do have to wait on God's perfect timing.

Well done.
Blessings
Janet

Somebody asked me, "What's the best song or poem you've written?" My reply was, I haven't written it yet. Like you said, until God calls us home, we strive to reach our goal, Bless you my friend, Roy

A very well-written rhyming poem. It seems we have to wait a very long time before we can fulfill our dreams while we are stuck in the weed. It seems not fair but sometimes it is a good thing.
