You're so right! Everyone would probably have a different answer. That's not to say anyone would be wrong. I don't believe that there is anyone real answer. I think the real meaning of life means for each of us what's in our hearts.
Good job!

I think nature reflects a divine creator, and I love the ending image, it seems like a new beginning with the door, which is very hopeful. Nicely written and worthy of a five star rating, Joy.

Hi there,
A very poignant poem.. the word legacy leaped out at me... I'm 72 with no heirs...BUT instead, I have given birth to a Foundation...I through my writings will be available to all who wish to read my works. - Lobber

Yes, we all have a different view of the meaning of life. Your poem articulates your aims through this life and they are all admirable, as is your artful poem. The picture is sterling!

Your well-written poem effectively conveys a message about what life consists of. You have made good use of specific details. Lines 3 and 4 say a person might be afraid of loved ones. ??

Janice, yes I regret in some families there are always situational, often bad habits, that can and do cause parents or a loved one fear about a person's actions or bad habits.

Yes, you are right!

This meets the contest requirements nicely as you deliver a well penned rhymed verse within the line count allotted. Where I am a bit confused is that you do a beautiful job describing living, but I don't see how it expresses the actual meaning of these activities. It's probably just my own dense nature LOL. Good luck in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

My meaning of life...is in the process of being a human, doing these human things. It is in the doing throughout the handful of decades we get to try our hand all of these things and more...

A very well-written heartfelt poem about the meaning of life for each of us should be to find love and learn how to live with passion each day and to raise a family with great integrity.

Sandra, thank you. I believe we all strive for these and many more, we just come at life from differing directions.

I appreciate the points you make in this poem. I especially like the lines, "being open despite some fear/ Of people that might be very dear." Good luck in the competition!
