Very enjoyable reading Bob, I liked the format you used. The picture choice was great, the lacy beauty of a snowflake. You described the effects winter had on the area but also gently reminded us of spring. I sometimes wonder how people who don't have the benefits of the four seasons can understand the pros and cons of each one. I agree that spring is special with new growth and birth, although the fall or autumn has my favorite holiday- Halloween. Very well done, I could feel the bitter cold, thanks for sharing.

Hi,Alie. Thank you for the review. (I meant to ask you...what does "traveler of the USA mean on your profile page?) Bless you, Bob
-
You are so welcome Bob. It was so enjoyable to read. MMMmm- well I have retired from work, but my husband who is younger than I am hasn't reached the magic retirement age, so he found a position that allows him to move around the country, so five years ago we sold the house, bought a 5th wheel and we travel around the USA where his work takes him. Blessings.

That is so cool, Alie.My wife follows people like you on You Tube all the time. She talks about them nd their adventures constantly. LOL Bob
-
We do have adventures aplenty. LOL, tell her thanks even though I don't do You Tube.

A fine piece of free verse here that cultivates some splendid witer imagery of which I would rather not be reminded at this point in time when we are just entering a glorious summer for a welcome change.

And after the storm is over it can instill an incredible quiet over a landscape of pristine white purity. Well done Bob. I like spring as well although the new fallen snow is a beautiful sight. It's just the cold... Nancy

I feel much more friendly toward Winter now that it's moved below the equator. I do have to ask about this line: tears gather and glisten on trims --do you mean "rims"? Very well done, Bob. :) Nancy

Thank you,Nan. I appreciate your review as alwys. No, I meant trims ....as in the gutters and roof ledges. Do you think rims would be better? Thanks again, Bob
-
I didn't understand "trims". The picture in my head shows icicles hanging from his lower eyelashes or the lower rims of his eyes. See what other readers think. It may well just be me. :) Nancy
-
Okay, Nan. I will, but so far you are the only one out of 25 that mentioned it. Thanks. I will keep an eye out. :) Bob

I could hardly wait for winter to be over this year. But I never dreamed the weather would totally skip spring, and go straight to a hot and muggy summer. Thanks for sharing. :-)

Yeah, I am about fed up with winter for sure up here. We usually get about the same weather here as in Chicago and right now the lilacs are in bloom but the tulips are long gone. Ugh! Thanks, Don. Bob

This makes winter sound beautiful and dangerous. I like the metaphor for icicles in
stanza three as crystal daggers. Good mix of the personification of Winter and nature in the last stanza. I like the alliteration and consonance throughout the
poem.

Ah, I think Mother Nature loves to bring spring to us, especially after a long, cold winter. I happen to love winter, although we really don't have one here in S. California. It's fun to visit Montana in the winter, where I grew up and where my father and best friend live, but I get to go home to sunshine...
Great poem, Bob! I loved the music you wove into this poem,
Carol
