Well, we reap what we so, do we not, Mrs. KT?
You see, I believe life is a lot like an echo in that whatever we shout out there will eventually come back to us.
Revenge is a dish best served in a cup of hot tea, in this instance.
Nice and dark, just like I like my poetry to be.
Good on ya!

    Hey Dean!
I so enjoyed penning this rather dark and twisted tale. Who knew? I thought I was all about chickadees and hepatica!
Thank you for the great review!

This first made me smile because I thought it was just a woman nagging about her husband. Then I continued to read on and suddenly it reminded me of a 20/20 or Dateline or something about a woman who poisoned her husband and family with some chemical that you put into the car. She put it in their coke and you apparently don't taste it. When you die from it it looks and comes across as the flu if you don't know what you're looking for. After like the third person in her family that went in they finally started doing more research into it. Who would have thought? It's crazy how one thing we watch or participate in like a play in high school can make such a great poem.

    Hello!
Throughout history, unfortunately, men and women have employed arsenic to rid themselves of individuals they no longer considered worthy of their time or love. Pretty frightening when I researched it. But this was a fun one to pen, nonetheless.

Rats! I'm sure you've heard this one before, Diane. I was going to rate this a six, and discovered I was fresh out. You are one funny gal! And, apparently someone not to mess with, although Robert probably deserved what he got. Tracking in snow is hard to forgive.

    Hi Don!
I am gladly accepting your virtual six star review! I am harmless, but I really enjoyed penning this tragic and twisted little number.
Thank you for the complimentary and humorous review!

You're very welcome, Diane. Harmless, you say?
Ok, but anyhow, I'll be extra careful about my boots whenever I visit you.

Good work my dear on this love story gone wrong. It is just so good to see the long suffering wife getting revenge at last.

It looks like the cold will kill him, if the arsenic doesn't do the job

hugs

What a great poem, you kept me entertained the whole way through. I don't know that I am supposed to "enjoy" murder, but I liked what you wrote, and I was definitely rooting for your protagonist, and I am glad she got out of her abusive relationship. Great job.

This is excellent. Old Bob gets what he had coming. There is only so much a person can take, before they decide enough is enough. No jury of her PEERS would ever convict her. She actually did the world a service by ridding it of this lout.

    Woah, Thomas!
Didn't see this coming. I am honored and humbled by your exceptional review. I remember thinking about "Arsenic and Old Lace," but I woke up one morning thinking of the first two stanzas. I couldn't get them out of my mind. One thing led to another, and then this "tragic tale" took on a life of its own...I have another one brewing as well...You'll like it: takes places in Salinas, CA...John Steinbeck country!
    Thank you again, Thomas!

A very well-written poem, I think many abused women feel that way sometimes when their spouses give them a hard time while they want everything perfect at home while they play around.

Interesting, well thought out story for the contest, I really enjoyed it. True to life as well, I'm sure that this scenario has been played out more than once in history. Good luck in the contest, although I don't think you'll need it.

This is a witty sarcastic poem that tells a clear story about a serious topic, physical abuse. This poem shows the worst of marriages and that both partners wanted out. So why didn't they divorce each other a long time ago. It does show there was once love but now there is only hate. The abused has the upper hand now. But really she won't be free in the future for jail is in it now if abuse isn't.

Good luck and keep writing
