Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Well did glance some at the other reviews, and see nothing wrong with the photo, for this particular contest and can read most of it with my magnifying glass...and for all who are US citizens, true Americans, young and old, should take a look at your picture and Red Skelton, who was a dedicated US citizen, and talented actor & beloved comedian.. And what he said... Well, his words came from the heart and think if I remember correctly, he might of cried somewhat during reciting this... a long time ago, for many it might be...or maybe...just many here don't even recognize him or his name. Though hubby & I, and some relatives are familiar with these words spoken by Red... most likely, too, now on youtube...like everything else these days..Though like Red, him, your words seemed honest & humble, and coming from an Australia, you let us know and thought that also an interesting fact to inform us of your Country's prime minister and that I was just unaware of. Yes.. Everything flowed nicely, and very readable, rhyming poem of this very tragic event, for even those outside of the US to to witness then or find about now...Unfortunately, I agree it took way too long to finally discover the culprit, Osama Bin Laden. and now all the long conflicts that are still going on so how related, it does seem...And can imagine the many waiting in Heaven, or others possibly Hell from crimes they did commit

First one of the bunch that I read on 9/11, so don't know whose is the best or all of that yet, just like how you composed it and the sentiment I did feel when reading it.

God Bless, like Red Skeleton would always say, when ending his TV show...Caressa_08

Thanks Sis, really appreciate your detailed review. I doubt I will go in an American related competition again. The entries were all good but as an outsider even though some of our own we almost a part of it all, well, I dunno. Thanks.

a good 911 contest entry. I think you have done well completing the challenge of the contest, Your well-chosen words flow together nicely combining to form the message of the poem for the reader.

Thanks Friernd. Appreciate your kind words. However, it is useless an Australia entering an American competition. I won't both again! Appreciate you coming by though.

I understand why it took so long to kill Bin Ladin. they had to wait for an election year. I'm not saying that everything is political.... wait, yes I am.

Even the smallest act of service, or the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost. If we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate. Your poem delivers a wonderful tribute and the words are sincere and expressive. Thanks for sharing this piece and good luck in this contest.

Wishing you all the best...
Bill~

No, I never saw that movie, 'Executive Decision'...my sister took her in-laws to see the world trade centers on 9-1-0...the day before. You never know. I watched the movie about flight 93 the other night. Hard to believe all over again. Love your poem, blessings....

Thanks Bro is it? Someone said the script on the picture was hard to read but I could not help that.
reply by Irish Rain on 18-Sep-2016
No, Sis, not bro, I didn't have a problem reading it.

Hello,

Beautiful contest entry for this 9/11 piece. My daughter was in New York when the towers were hit. It was a horrible event and terrifying for all of us.

I think you did a good job, very emotional and it does justice to the tragic occasion.

I loved your poem. And I agree with everything you have said. It would probably scare us to death if we knew everything that is going on in our country. I never saw the movie "Executive Decision". But I am going to see if I can find it. I would love to see it myself. With the things going on, I feel that we are in a down hill spiral. Your poem was very well done in style and chosen words. We can all relate to your message.

Thanks Sis, I thank God we were not there at the time. We did intend going to America in 2000 but sadly for various reasons it never happened.

A fitting tribute to the dead on that terrible day. I think we have a typo here which i have endeavoured to correct.

"So many (of)[have] lost,..."

The poem is fine, but the message on the flag is not readable. It is a shame for you put a lot of work into it. Hope you have better luck in the contest. I didn't know Howard was nearby. Thorpe was lucky.

Thanks Alan, yes I think you are right about the message on the artwork. But perhaps the poem makes up for the shortfall there. Some did not get my meaning about including Thorpe and PM Howard in the story but you are obviously an Aussie as well. Thanks again.

First flick I remember where Seagall's character was killed. I thought it was a good movie, may also have the DVD. Your emphasis on Australians makes me suspect you're from down yonder. NYC had a major bombing by the same cult the previous year(to 9/11)
so they knew it was coming. The news says they had one today...
excellent poem and significant...

Thanks friend yeah I guess the emphasis on Howard and Thorpe gives me away. Thanks for coming by and I did see that about another attack of some kind again yesterday our time. I realized about the other attack on World Trade Center and could have got into that but the subject was 911 so I dunno.
