Hi, Missy. Wow! I have read all of the other ideas and I think this is the most original of all. You completely stay away from shipwrecks and the such. really well done. Bravo! Bob

I always enjoy reading the different takes on these pictures. I love that yours touches on the brevity of love - even for those of us that have been married a long time, when we reflect on other loves we've had, they seem as if they came and went in the blink of an eye. Your second stanza drives home the intensity of those brief encounters - very nicely written.

So love comes quickly and at times departs just as fast...the faces are so close, as seen here and yet far. Your poem is sad, and a little wistful. Winter storms erode away the sand at the shoreline, but it does return in summer...so we can hold onto a little hope :)
hugs,
Carol

This is a lovely interpretation of the picture, Missy. Well chosen words to describe how a flimsy visitor love can be. All the best.Ulla :)

Very melancholy Missy. Love, though we want it to be forever, sometimes is not. I loved the picture Robyn picked and your unique take on it:)

I'm doing good. Just got back from vacation in Florida - now home to 20 degrees and snow - yuck - lol. How are you doing?
Sorry, I know I missed some of your poems but I came home to 139 messages and couldn't bare the stress so I deleted all of them and will start afresh:)

I am sitting here trying to whittle down 162 posts. LOL. I am doing good. Trying to remodel the house, with no money. Try that for size...lol

So very true, especially this:
We are taken unaware
When it leaves just as quickly
Left like the shoreline ...wasting away.
wow, well done in so many words. Hugs

A great interpretation my friend, they're many and varied, much like the individuality of each writer, and this is a fine writing on this subject, it goes to to show how subjective art is! Well done, good scribing, blessings, Roy

Well written verse I enjoyed reading it. Love, one of my favorite, and yet least favorite subjects. Not so easy to write about sometimes but I think you clearly made your point. I can imagine the shoreline after the storm, littered with seaweed and hunks of wood, rain streaming slowly down. See what you've done, you set my imagination loose, thanks so much.

Loved this. Second poem I have seen to this image. Good how we all get different ideas for a picture. But seeing it is a fell and girl I guess there will be similarities on the poems. Good work. I just told Jax to join me up to the group.

A lovely interpretation of the picture challenge, a bit sad and well worded. I like to think, though, that love can last.
