Hello, my friend. You are doing a splendid job of relating this story, Ulla. Your writing is inspirational for any out there who are in search of a parent or parents. I think I told you I was raised in foster homes and orphanages until I was 17. I can relate in many ways;
""To be honest, it freaked me out. I can't say that I had forgotten about you, Ulla, but I had sort of put it all into a compartment that I didn't visit, but this brought it all back. I was shaken to the core." (Good solid writing)

This is an interesting post that the author has created with this piece of writing. This is a sad story and luckily, I have never had to contend with any of this. This story is an eye-opener and it reminds me of the move 'Philomena'.

Hi, Ulla
= Oh, jeeze! What a cliffhanger you left!
= And she had just married.
= Oh, her mother didn't hold it back until after she married did she?
= That would be nasty business.
= Super chapter. (*<*)
* Merry Christmas to you and yours*
Cheers & Blessings...

Oh,My goodness, Ulla... what anxiety you must've felt! Your mother also at the time of the letter no doubt. this must have been such an emotional time for you, I'm sure. I can't wait for the next part. Giddy

Another interesting chapter. Of course, I am very curious as to what the letter says. I will have to wait for the next post to find out.

Wow, so maybe I was correct, she did hide the letters from your mother. That would be so mean. Guess I will find out with the next post. I'm glad you had a happy childhood with your adoptive parents, it doesn't work out that way for everyone.

I'll never understand how some individuals think they have a right to alter the destine of others but sadly it happens far too often.

You are so right, I couldn't agree more, and I can assure you my mother would have agreed with you as well. All best Ulla

So far this is proving to be a riveting read!
The end had me worried. Did your grandmother hide the American's love letters from your mother? I really want to know! I sure hope not, because that would be terrible. I'm looking forward to reading the next chapter.
Suggestions:
It was right under the surface, yet it stubbornly stayed underneath as if prevented from coming up and catch a breath.
It was right under the surface, yet it stayed stubbornly underneath as if prevented from coming up to breathe.
so better say nothing at this point..
so IT WAS better say nothing at this point.
I could easily have denied to do it,
I could easily have REFUSED to do it,
so who was I to suddenly deny you that opportunity,
so who was I to suddenly deny you that opportunity[?]

Finding My Roots "The Quest Part Sixteen" This is a very good part in your book about finding your roots. A great story so far and of course I'm wondering what is in that letter. Very well done.
