I like the way you have used the relentlessness of surf to symbolize two totally different waves of life (the gently lapping tides of love and the pounding, rending pain of heartbreak).
Like a cliff-hanger season finale you leave us suspended - will the storm calm and serenity return in some fashion. . . and what will be lost in the onslaught.
Nice interpretation of the picture's implications :-)

Not knowing the first thing about poetry and its many styles and structures, I think I'll just leave the Challenge group to all you fine poets and I'll just get my enjoyment out of reading your contributions. Great job. :-)

I enjoyed your poem. It tells a great story of longing, heartbreak, and hope. I like the format you chose--it worked well for your well chosen words. I could feel the emotion of the person involved.
Good job and thanks for sharing.

It seems that this picture evokes a poem about one kind of love or another. Your's is about a broken-hearted one hoping for things to be the way they once were.
Your love was that for me
a sleepy cove
with tides of love
lapping gently on the shore
Return me
to that idyllic place
ease my suffering ...I beg you!

Hi, Missy
_ This is another great romantic take on the artwork.
_ I'm such a sucker for romance anyway. (*<*)
_ Great question: 'Will peace ever find me?'
_ Really enjoyed the read, my friend.

Jax, first let me say thank you for resending the pic in the jpeg format. I tried and tried to get it to work with the other.
Now, let me thank you for this lovely review. Romance is what I love to read and is mostly what comes out of me...lol.
Hugs,
Missy

- You're very welcome. (*<*)
- I will remember to send all jpegs in the format I resent in. It is good to be able to reformat them.

Hello justafan! I came to check out your picture this poem :) You took a unique approach from the ones I have read so far. I love your theme of romance. Love left you with pounding waves, but you want that love back for calmer waters. Very nice :)

There is much about the sea that prompts contemplation, especially of losses and melancholy thoughts. Longing is a good description of it, as expressed in your fine poem. The self questioning of these lines reflects the longing we all feel when love ends:
"Will the tide ever turn?
Will peace ever find me?"

Ok... I can do that. ;)
Beg me again though.. ok? ;)
I love the longing in this poem... but only if you're
begging me... not some guy... they get all cocky like, you know?
;)
It's a beautiful interpretation, and I truly enjoyed it.
Well done.

Hi Missy, good take on the picture challenge. This seems to be the normal theme on this picture. Most of these challenges produce a wide variety of perspectives but not this one so much.
