I am not aware of Brooke's troubles, but I have missed her poems and wondered what was wrong. My thoughts and prayers go out to her whatever her troubles are. This is beautifully written and expressed. Brooke is priceless.

Her daughter said she has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of MS. :-(

Beautiful poem! I enjoyed reading it although it is somber. It was clearly written from the heart. You wrote: "and fill your mind with a million more rhymes about dandelions and all kinds of animals, for us to count." I think that lightens the poem, and lets the reader know a little bit more about Brooke. Thanks for sharing!

I'm not reading too many of these, but like the structure of yours. It almost looks like an hourglass. The opening lines really hooked me with their down-home expression. We've all been struck hard by this unexpected event. I know she'll be thrilled with this out pouring of love.

Wonderful poem Karen! I'm not sure what's going on with Brooke. Someone mentioned something about a hospital, so I hope it is not serious. I'm not sure how long this has been going on. I hope Brooke will be okay and return to us soon.

She has been diagnosed with aggressive Multiple Sclerosis.
So keep her in your prayers.
