DARN!!!!! I wish you weren't such a great writer. I am actuality glad you are, but....I am a huge scaredy cat and you play into that. I will never look at a scarecrow the same again. Good job.

Hey, thanks a bunch for taking an interest in this series of flash horror tales, Barbara. I very much appreciate your complimentary comments. While this will never be Book of the Month material here at good old FS, I do hope the stories are entertaining, at least.
I sincerely appreciate your review. ~Dean :)

A great addition to your Tiny Tales of Terror series, Dean. The eerie music helped set the tone and the picture definitely added its own scary flavor. I can see why they never went near the barn again. 8-)

It's always nice when the picture helps tell the story. Thanks for the pleasure of reading another one of your Tiny Tales that stir so much emotion with so few words. Great job. :-)

Good chapter in the book of Tiny Terrors. I like the picture as well, which looks like a nu-metel rock group's lead singer. Reminds me of To Kill a Mockingbird, and how the kids were fearful of the house next door, when there was no need to fear at all.

This is my first exposure to "Tiny Tales". Super creepy music and great photo, perfect accompaniment to your brief story.
Scarecrows "turning"? I'm assuming they've turned from innocent scarecrows into living dead scarecrows. Am I on the right track?
Don't want to ask too many questions lest I be visited by one!

You would be correct in your assessment, Green Lake Girl. A barn filled with living scarecrows is no barn I'd care to be anywhere near, LOL. No wonder the birds never flew out again. I would imagine they are very...hungry, heh-heh.
Much obliged for your continued interest, my friend. ~Dean

You are very welcome my friend and why shouldn't they be book of the month?
-
Just trust me on that one, Eric, LOL. I don't even show a ranking in the novelist category, only "short works". I can't say why, exactly, it is a book after all, LOL... ???

Well that's how I would look at it Dean, Strange!
Comment from Treischel
As usual, both entertaining as well as spooky. Well written with top-notch graphics. Your take of the abandoned barn took a monstrous turn with that pitch-forked scarecrow wraith.

Dean, ever since I first reviewed you I felt the strength of your voice on the page. You may not remember, but I was the one who suggested you checked the work of a wonderful and brilliant writer called Mike Battaglia, a dear friend of mine. I just love your stories. They're really gripping. Sorry I haven't reviewed much but life is really hectic nowadays.

Fo such a short piece there is much to contemplate here. I am not quite sure what it means when a scarecrow "Turns" but it sounds like a damn good reason to stay away from the barn. As always Dean, it is a pleasure to read your work. Rod
