Great chapter. I thought it would turn out more hellish than it did. Nice job at working this situation out.

As for not posting or reviewing, of course I understand. Why wouldn't you want to spend all the time you can when you see her so little. Have fun. Drew xx

Oh, I wondered who the TWO worrying were, then realised Franny's appeared. How come Tara doesn't see her and Blaze does then? Must be this pain making me dumb!

Tara's certainly a good, caring friend.

Have a wonderful time with your daughter, Phyllis.

Margaret

Thank you so much, Margaret. Tara no longer sees Franny bec she no longer needs Franny's help. In the last book, Franny said goodbye to her, saying she'd no longer be seeing her since her job was done with Ginger/Tara. Now, Franny has taken it on herself to look into Blaze's predicament.

This time she is not protecting anyone from a demon (as she protected the priest from Ginger) but investigating Blaze's background to find out WHY she could be pregnant while being a demon. There will be a scene with her in Heaven doing some detective work, interviewing angels. Should be a fun one to write.

ANyway, she's doing this on her own, bec she's heard Tara's prayers (eavesdropping maybe... who knows). But she figures if Tara thinks Blaze is not the evil demon she's said to be, she wants to help... only if it's justified. Then when Blaze gets pregnant, Franny KNOWS somethign is amiss, and she wants to get to the bottom of it.

Tara eyed her from across the room, through a curtain of raven hair. [I admire your use of descriptive action.]

I threw out a whole paragraph I'd written about stretching credibility through Blaze's ability to outwit Luke. It had to do with her moving all around the world to try to stay away from him. It was almost the flip-side of the Jonah-esque vs God attempt to conceal. And... then, doggone it, you threw in the possibility of God's part in the pregnancy which actually raises the level of the drama, adding a supernatural balance. I'm muddling this, but do you know what I'm saying?

Anyway, a fine post. Have fun with your daughter. Don't stay away too long.

Thanks so much, Jay. This whole story, the whole series, is bizarre and supernatural, but not in a spooky way. Just trying to look at Heaven and Hell from an Earthly viewpoint, how they would be if run like Earth. Giant bureaucracies, with Heaven run by the rare great leader and Hell run by the more common idiot leader, the extremes of what we find on Earth. So demons are just like people, no special powers. Even the Devil has no supernatural powers. He works like an evil human would, by lying, kidnapping, and killing with a bit of torture thrown in.

As for Blaze being able to outwit Luke, I've always made him out to be a bumbling buffoon, so arrogant and stupid that he actually thought he could run Heaven better than his own creator! If that isn't stupid, I don't know what is. Blaze worked as Luke's secretary most of her time in Hell. SHe got to know how his mind worked. Saw him in action every day. People are what they are and seldom change in basic ways. She had seen him take credit for Ginger's ideas and others, probably. She had seen him take credit for her own ideas. So she figured there was a good chance she could trick him into wanting credit for her idea, not thinking what it could mean. She puffs him up, telling him how clever he is to have thought of the plan, and he loves praise, so it worked. :)

Thank you for taking the time for giving me the background.

Granted, Luke is a buffoon, limited by his own greed and personal ego-needs, but he is also powerful. Tara warned Blaze he would grab her while she slept and throw her into the deepest pit of hell. That's the supernatural power-stuff that trumps even his stupidity when it comes to Blaze's limited powers. This was what I was referencing when I said you brought God into the arena (at least the possibility of his "allowing" and then "using" her pregnancy for a purpose she's not aware of.

That's all... Except to say your brilliance elevates this above a paranormal romance/adventure. Don't sell yourself short.

Thanks for the kind words... means a lot from you. But in my books, Lucifer has no special powers. He's powerful in Hell, but only in giving out punishments. On Earth, he has to move around disguised by "wearing" a human body. So to take her from her bed, he'd have to do it like any man would, break in and kidnap her. But he CAN do this, because he has no fear of being caught. He just slips out of the body of the man he used, and any witnesses will point to the innocent body, while Luke has Blaze back in Hell. It's a real danger, and she knows it. Ginger ran from Luke too, when he tried to capture her. Neither Luke nor his demons have any supernatural powers. All the demons have are those special cameras. Technology. True, it's ridiculously advanced (impossible) technology, but that's all it is. Hope that clears it up. :)

Not entirely, but I'll continue to let your skills stretch my awareness of all the possibilities within your characters. Someday I'll say, "Now, I see what she means."

Gee, I wish I knew what doesn't make sense to you, because it may be something I need to fix with edits. If you could just tell me where it's confusing, I'd know to fix that. Please continue to tell me where the story seems to have a hole. I have a big pile of words here that I use for patches. LOL!

Dear Phyllis - Great expressive writing once more - your dialogue stands out in this post. Franny showing up like that was hilarious...well I am worried, but maybe Franny is right:) Enjoyed reading this one. Have fun with your daughter:)
Thanks for sharing,

Hi Phyllis,

I really liked this chapter too. I'm glad that Blaze and Tara are such nice friends.
I understand totally why you'll be gone for a few days. Spend every moment you have with your daughter since you only get to see her twice a year.

Oh, I bet you are excited! Have a wonderful time with your daughter Phyllis. Blaze and Tara can wait and so can reviews.
Blaze has plenty of support if she has Tara, Franny, Father Murphy and most of all God on her side. She might get her fingers singed in the Church Property! LOL Well done. Nancy

Thanks, Nancy. Last time she was in a church was when she wore a disguise and went to Tara's wedding, but it was cold and she wore gloves. Rome is about 60 degrees this time of year, so no gloves! Maybe Tara will tell her about the bandage spray for her hands. :)

Fanny will save or shield Blaze's baby stomach from Luke. Her presence, I feel cannot be just for reassurance, but for protection. With Theo, Tara and Fanny and now Father Murphy in her corner, she might have a chance at happiness and being a mother. However, I feel something itching to throw a cold water on Blaze once she reaches Rome. Hopefully, she'll be able to get near the Vatican without injury. She still is a demon.

Thanks so much, Muffins. You're right... there will be a BIG problem later, but for a while, Blaze will be safe from Luke. He WILL insist on seeing her, tho. And he can go anywhere he wants to wearing a human body as disguise. :)

Very good chapter. I thought a lot about the reactions to important statements. . . always a matter of serious thought for me when writing. You handled it very well.

The only place I thought might need a pinch was another line between..."This all sounds so impossible. It may work at first,... these two lines... Tara considering a bit longer.

Odd coincidence. Our daughter is coming to visit next week too. We haven't seen her in two years. We leave for a thirty day cruise down the Pacific side of South America the day she leaves. I'll be taking a hiatus too. . . only longer.

Have a nice visit!

Thanks so much, Ray. You're right. I thought the SAME thing. I've marked it for editing the final print version.

Hope you have a wonderful time with your daughter and also on your MONTH-LONG CRUISE! WOW! How amazing! Hope you're pretty good with Espanol. :)

Well, it looks like things are going to work out at least I hope so. It does seem to be
very weird but it has all been weird but it is getting even more as time goes on. Have a good time with your daughter and don't worry about writing ad reviewing. Good read and keep up he good work.
