Hello Spitfire, Very good ... but I'll weigh in on both sides:
The doctors days are filled with war and peace, indeed,
and the patient(s) could solve war and peace while waiting.
Perhaps, the doctor's waiting room should get moved to the airport. A person could get their annual exam while waiting for takeoff - lol.
A fun poem. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

Good one, Late Bloomer. Never thought of those long waits at airports especially when flights are cancelled.

If I'm overworked, the last thing I want to do is read War and Peace. No, I'm not a doctor. LOL. But would love their pay. Very humorous. Thanks for sharing. Les

Umm, the idea is that the patients read the long book. Drs.have enough to keep abreast of the changes in medicine. And I'm betting a lot of that paycheck goes toward malpractice insurance.

The system is broken. Malpractice is just a part of the problem. Well, I go on forever on that, but I won't. :)

Yes, a Doctors life is a busy one. The other book that would be good in a waiting room would be a Sudoku puzzle book. Most folks could have War and Peace read before I could work one puzzle. LOL . Nicely done, Carolyn

I hear you. That's a frustrating and challenging game. Can't believe my ten year old grandson can do them!

"overworked doctors
stock novels in waiting room
War and Peace best bet"
Very, very funny.
All rules adhered to - very witty - biting commentary in senryu form.
Got my laugh for the day!
Good luck in the contest!

Thanks, mjac 77. As long as it made you laugh, I'm happy win or lose. (Although this one is not in a contest.)

Only 1,370 pages? Geez ... that puts Stephen King's wordiness to shame. That's hard to do. Great poem for the picture. Excellent match. However, just so you know, while I offer plenty of feedback for prose, I lack those skills for poetry. Still like to read it, though.

Same here, driven. Prose is my preference to read and review. But my muse is working on rewriting a first draft.

Ha! How true...they want you there on time to wait for them...guess that's why they call us patients. Just heard on the news that many doctors are planning on retiring early because of Obama non-care. :)

I'm heard that too. Fortunately. my doctor is too young to retire, I'm thinking 45 maybe and I adore him. He calls me Dr. La May because I go online and can usually diagnose myself. Just had my six month blood work checkup and everything's perfect!

Glad he respects you...does he know your FS name? :)CK
