Well - look what you have created out of our perpetual "writer's block". It is ironic sometimes when the very block we write about manages to produce a work of art?!!!
I like the choice of rhyming sounds. The hard con ant "k" reminds me of the ticking of the clock - whether on a virtual clock (such as the brain searching for something) or a real one - the tick tock of which pushes us away from creating. See what you have done with this?! It made me think, you have constructed a great metaphor and what more can we ask from poetry! (smile)

Who knows about whether or not you would want to know me. All you can do is check out my profile and see if you want to "fan" each other. That would be nice.

Writer's block
The pissed off muse
refuses to work
The credit is given
to that writer jerk
Demanding union wages
and a 40 a week
Equal respect so to speak.
*******
The above came to me as I read your post. The best description of Writer's Block is "Creative mental constipation." (LOL) Terrific post.

Oh me ain't that a fact have to write that down somewhere. Actually as I said to MIkey last night doing the poem actually woke the old cockles up and I remembered an attempt at Fiction I wanted to have a go at. As someone said (Mikey or you or?) a lot of fiction we might write either contains some fact or is inspired by actual events in our lives. So stay tuned and thanks as ever for your encouragement.

It has been said, with shock and dread
'My muse is on vacation'
But, he'll return to bring heartburn
or joy and inspiration

Exactly how it is for many of us - watching that clock - a deadline looming and feeling the abyss getting deeper and darker by the moment.
I can hear the clock ticking. Great rhyming, very descriptive words and the photo nicely compliments your words.

My friend I think you have found the key to unlock the writers block.
This is clever, factual and nicely presented.
The clock tower image looks like a wise old owl to me so hopefully that's a good omen for you.
