Well, you did it. A love poem without the usual words.
I love the use of the romantic cowboy image. No need to say sexy. It just is!
The rhyming couplets in your quatrains are perfect, and the tempo feels good.

Loved all the cowboy lingo: 'honkytonks', 'live to rope another day', 'straight out of the chute.'

Very clever western theme . The references to the cowboy experience are good and the images are vivid. The rhymes flow well. You've depicted typical cowboy behavior. Good job

A great love poem with a western theme. Yes, we do often do things we later regret, but sometimes in the process, we do find true love. Great job carrying the western theme throughout~Debbie

A great and fun love story, well done for not using the love words, it's seems the cowboys always ride into the sunset....

Your skillfully-written poem is a pleasant, entertaining blend of love story and wry humor. GREAT use of Western slang, metaphors and similes.

HI! This is a great entry for the Comp. reminds me of the old fashioned Western Movies, where the hero always got the girl but had to ride on when duty called, leaving the audience thing "What an idiot!" I hope you do well in the voting. wiljacro.

The love of horses. Very nice, I love the Texas spin of this poem of love. Excellent picture, great poem. My fav lines, "He made me hum like a tuning fork;
He blew my mind, and he popped my cork.
This shrew was tamed into submission;
It was the most sublime condition."

Good luck and God bless

this is very well written, mystery writer, you did an excellent job writing this poem about the schoolmarm that fell for a cowboy but she was left in the dust as he left her for another. i enjoyed reading it, good luck in the contest.

The cowboy is personified so real and live in zest and commitment to the wander thrust, love is now so near to heart and romantic feeling has to get a stamp now, poet finds the lover would get the cowboy, nice story. 17/304
