Hi Sharyn,
the glow is in the eye of the beholder. I've watched people walk past the most wonderful sights and not even notice a change in their emotion. On the other hand people with a passion for life and what it offers see the glow in everything and the beauty is revealed. A truly beautiful poem with and equally beautiful message, thank you!
Kindest thoughts,
James xx

Well-said Sharyn- often it's those little details that can make something so beautiful, cause it to shine so bright. I find that the simple things catch our eyes easier:) Good poem of this house and how just those curtains could make the entire thing glow:) xx

Ooh... I love the way you describe it. I can see this house right now. It's a drab old house, ordinary yet intriguing, draped in beautiful purple flowers.

It is the poet in you, my dear... to see more than the 'averages' see... and then bring to us, your readers, the beauty of the moment of discovery.
I've had those moments, saw those sights, experienced the wonder in the moment... but being heartless... I have to pretend I didn't.
Thanks for slipping me your moments, I'm greedy... slip me more.

Just have to slow down sometimes, to recognize those moments and let them in, yes?
hey, did you catch the other one? 'Puzzling Pieces'? I think you'll like it! So glad you're back. Really.

You write beautifully of this old house
that takes on a special beauty as orchids
bloom around it.
The beauties of nature have the ability
to lift the most humble of sights to the
status of extraordinary!

Another, unexpected pleasure of life. I believe there are a lot of them out there every day. We can't see them until we first recognize them. Then, we can see and enjoy. Thanks for sharing. Your friend, Bob

You're absolutely correct on that one Bob - first, you have to NOTICE them. I've driven past this house regularly for weeks not, have SEEN the orchids, but never really LOOKED. :)S

Beauty makes things glow, not exactly showy and rich stuff. You got your point across very clearly. Sometimes you don't have to spend a fortune to bring sophistication into your life.

Thank you for sharing your powers of observation. Sometimes we look but do not see--it takes time and purposefulness. I appreciate the reminder and could visualize the vivid "purple orchids" and the "glow." Cheers- Joan

You're quite right, Sharyn. Sometimes the SIMPLEST things have the greatest effect on us.
I know that from my experiences of looking in the mirror. :-)
Nice one!
Cheers, Ray

I don't think they stand a chance dear!

If they look like they might, then..."I am a Dalek...exterminate!"
So long as they don't run up the stairs, as I'd then be f**ed! :-) xx
-
What the heck was I babbling on about in my 'Dalek' reply last night?
It must have been the beer, and the shop assistant told me it was the non-alcoholic type. Hic! xx
-
oh I just thought you'd looked in the mirror and got such a fright you'd lost it dear! :)) probably trying to find a rhyme with "garlic" and thinking of driving a stake through your heart ...
-
I hete my 'steaks' with garlic squashed or chopped
It makes my teeth go blunt and smell a lot
A match for 'garlic' I just cannot find
though hope you find this silly ditty rhymed.
xx
-
Dalek, silly!

That was the best I could do without the rhyming dictionary, and in under one minute. :-) xx
