Yep. wish I knew too. Your poem raises some
good questions in a wonderfully poetic way.
Lots of imaginative imagery in your questions.
though provoking as well as a good read.

This is beautiful, visionary. I love the picture you chose for illustration. Your internal and external rhyme make this piece exceptionally smooth in flow and cadence to the ear. Excellent work.

I ask myself the same questions, so I love the honesty and true
desire to know. I will love to be surprised and sit among all that
I loved eternally . What I am sure is that regardless of religious faith
Or any other belief , it will be the same for all . Challenging poem
very well written. Pili. (Wish I had six stars, great poem )

Seems there are no sixes that I am able to give you. Hope you know how this affected me. I love the what if's of this. I do trust that there is a great reward out there. Even the floating in space seems a nice peaceful reward. Nicely done.

Bless you my dear - maybe we'll float by each other, lit in glory and hopefully not bored! :))))Sharyn

I love this poem :-) I love the reference to that pit of the stomach thing at the start of a roller coaster ride and linking it to the the gut check of what is next. I love the reference to keeping score...the inevitable question of whether our actions really count against us, or whether there really is no thereafter. And I adore the lines "and what do I do, drifting in space
with a smile on my face, racing to nowhere"
I often contemplate the intrinsic value of the glory in life after death spent adoring - sounds boring!
Great poem...I really enjoyed reading it :-)

Okay, Sharyn, you went kind of zany with this one, but it made me smile throughout, so I ain't mad atcha! LOL By the way, I'd say you'd "float like a butterfly," not a fairy. :D

didn't want to OD on the butterfly metaphor Ed - three times in one short poem would be too much perhaps?????

I am responding to your well-written, thought-provoking poem and the question in the notes. I thank God that I know what's going to happen to me when I draw my last breath. Not knowing would be really scary.

life and death
are
one butterfly breath
apart ...
You are so right
a lovely poem, my friend -- it does leave us wondering, but do we really want to know what happens -- particularly if it's not good.
