Absolutely delightful, right down to the appalling pun.
Love the asides and the inspired, quirky rhymes. I also believe there are some cheeky jokes just under the surface.
Roebuck and Sear got a good snort out of me.
I'm thinking: Like pancakes (the batter)
This is terrific, Steve. Remind me not to enter anymore Poem/Story contests unless you're in a coma.

I seem to have touched a few American funny-bones with 'Roebuck and Sear' which is odd because I really know nothing about them...
I started scribbling this piece of nonsense for the Fable competition - and then found out it was closed... Duh!
