This is exceptional. I wish I had a six left. Is Carl suppose to be Carl Jung? Brilliant dialogue with the analysis of the painting, "lacks passion and intensity, but only in art." Talk about a look into the future! Obviously, this is the same poet who upset the patient with anti-semitic remarks. An amazing piece. You should enter it a contest outside of FS.

Jimi, very well written story that builds toward its startling conclusion. Very good background narrative in the first paragraph. The formal dialogue between the two doctors worked well in this story. The key element here is the high degree of believability. One small nit:
The later [latter] was the main reason he bought the painting.
Blessings, Hector

Spag:"Oh, one of the artist/s in the park. There are a few of them wondering 'wandering' around. Yes,'Yet' can't put my finger on it? I did so enjoy your story. That painting did exist, a watercolor that was sold in England, the buyer was taunted by people who wanted to know "are you really going to hand that thing in your home?" Well done Mrs. Tex-ass.

Comment from uniqueauthor
I studied Psychology and we had to study Sigmund Freud, but the thought that Freud and Adolph Hitler is novel to me, but not surprising, they were both rather, excentric, shall we say, in their ideas. One was just cazy and the other was quite insane. This story is well written and held my interest to the end. The imagery was vivid, in that, by all indications this young aritst's painting revealed the chaos in his mind.

Oh Jimi, what a wonderful story. A bit far fetched and terribly nice, but still wonderful. Leave it to you to concoct such a story. Awesome, my dear.

Gungalo, how are you. thank you ever so much. Do you really think this is far feteched. You know they were both Austrian and lived in Vienaa at the same time. Hitler did try to go to art school and he was needy and homeless at one time.. again thank you... jimi

Quite superb. When will you listen to an old man, Jimi, and believe what he says? You are a superb writer. Your words flow like melted honey. Yes, there are two mistakes. The second paragraph; should read 'latter' not 'later.' I said 'two.' Now I can't find the second! Jimi I want to grab you by the shoulders, my sweet lady. You are an artist. WRITE! for the love of God, I wish I had you talent. You're obviously highly educated. Use that erudition. WRITE!
Your dear friend Mike (Damn. should be a six)

jlsavell,
What an intriquing idea that Hitler and Freud met. This is a thought provoking little story and I'm glad that you shared it with us.

Outstanding!
Absolutely brilliant!
It doesn't matter where the thought or inspiration was seeded, the execution is supreb.
Now these are not a collection of adjectives, strewn together for some feel-good moment. I was intrigues, captured and stunned with the ending.
You keep writing like this and you will blow everyone away, not just on site, but out there in the real cash soceity.
Sheer literary aristry! ingrid

Very interesting, well-written story. It reminds me of the movie "Max." If you haven't seen it, you should. It's about Hitler, the artist, interacting with an art dealer right after WWI.
Your writing style flows and is easy to read. You paint a vivid picture of Freud, although I didn't realize that's who Sigmund was until I read your notes.
Some spag:
I felt imperative you--felt it imperative
had a brief but intense conversation--brief, but intense,
the artist in the park--artists
Great job--
