Hello...

Very well stated...I love your lines "wound within my heart which only time may heal but not erase." The wounds of grief do fade with time, but they are never ever gone...I really appreciated your poem.

This is a well done poem that will surely be therapeutic for you, if it has not been already. Sometimes words are more like tears than literal tears and can be healing. Tears are not always the first sign of grief, maybe even seldom. Tears, words, all the grief works come in God's own time. Please don't be intimidated by others idea of how you should react. There are many ways to grieve. Grief support groups sometimes are very helpful in finding some of these. God bless you, Jeanie Mercer

Absolutely touching and overwhemingly truthful. You bare your heart in this poem. I know you write mostly prose so this has merit. Yes' it's so true: "Your devotion encased me like a glove." My best wishes, dear writer.

We all grieve in different ways and you are no exception. Sounds like your mother adored you and sometimes overly attentive. But You indeed were blessed to have been so cherished. you wrote a lovely tribute with such a flair and talent. Great entry. Love, Jean

Hi Poet....this is an excellent poem and one I enjoyed reading more than once. The grief of losing a loved one it profound and all consuming. You have written that so well here. Good luck in the contest.....blessings....chey

Your words touched my heart as few on this site (or others) have ... Though it has been almost 30 years since we lost my mother, your words resonated with feelings I relate to in so many ways. I was able to cry, but felt much the same as you.

I didn't see anything that needs correction.

My heart-felt condolences for your loss - sherry

Absolutely beatiful poem. I identify so much with becoming numb in the grieving process, and the seeming lack of emotions that some can perceive. For me I know it is a defense mechanism. You beautifully captured those emotions here. Good luck in your contest.

Exquisite words for the love felt every day, surrounding, true.
I love the rhyming words... fresh and perfect.
The lines are memorable, with delicate images.
Well done.

hello author, the loss of a mother is truly a sad event - tragedy. time can never heal the hole in one's heart after such a loss. this poem depicts such pain. I particularly liked the following line:

Your passing is a wound within my heart
which only time may heal but not erase
(for some time heals, for me, only did it soothe, somewhat.)

Good luck in the contest. Regards, LateBloomer

Thank you LateBloomer for a lovely review. Time at least makes it easier to cope but the pain is still just below the surface.

So much emotions in every stanza, the structure well done, and the sadness is truly there, no errors I could see or revisions, thank you so much for sharing, this is truly a great entry, good luck.
