well,, put your arms around yourself and squeeze - a hug from me to you!
Touching; I think we all have a case of the "what if's" every now and again;
what I have found is that if it wouldn't have been for one thing or another, I wouldn't be where I am today;
well written, and thought provoking too :-)

Thank you so much for this review or comment. I have reached a point where I cannot hope to catch up with my reviews in need of answering without resorting to a carbon copied response. I hate doing it, but with 700 plus unanswered, I can't keep up! Goat kidding season is looming, and we are spending more and more time outside preparing our buildings. My muse is driving me crazy trying to write as much as she can, before we end up on our three-to-four month sabbatical. LOL. I'm hoping you will forgive me. I have read every review, corrected nits and errors found and carefully considered every suggestion made. I am so glad you have enjoyed my work, or at felt it worthy of a comment.
I am trying to review your work as much as I can also, and by using a C.C. here, I have more time left to read all your wonderful stories, articles and poems, as well!
Hugs,
Jani

I thank you for sharing. I assume this is a true "rambling of your thoughts", and if so, I very much respect your courage in sharing your thoughts with your extended FanStory family. Sometimes God gives a heavy load to those he knows are strong enough to handle it. In return, you received five children.
You are one brave woman. Keep writing.

If I held the key to the past, I would stand on the edge of the sky and let it fall into the hands of God.
It is tempting to want to change the past and remove all of the pain and suffering that happened there. But then, if you did, would you be the same person you are today? The answer is most likely no. You have suffered a great deal in this life, Jani, more than most, but it does appear that God has seen you through it and made you stronger for it. Know that you are blessed.

Very thought provoking reading. I think all of us tend to ask "What if?" Your writing has touched my inner core, a compliment to you that your writing so well expresses your emotions. Sadly, often that question reflects on the negatives with which we have been confronted and dwell in us all too long. Thank God for the blessings of five children who are your heartbeat each day. Hugs, LadyMary

Like you told me before in one of your replies, living in the "what if" world can offer us the ideas for many great stories.
However, it is always good and comforting to walk on solid ground in the "what IS " world.
However some things are out of our hand, out of our control and it's good to leave such matters,
"into the hands of God.
That's where it belongs."

Fanstatic ramblings of the mind Jan. One often asks 'what if'. Alas this does not change things and never will. Only God can make the load lighter or change the way.
Very good food for thought. We must look to tomorrow and put the past behind us. Luv jada

Funnily enough I was talking to a mate about the what if scenario. This was my answer. It was meant to be, simply because it happened. Such is the way of our destinies. Some excellent questions you have asked here. God bless. Nick.

I LOVED IT!! My husband always says "you wouldn't be who you are if you didn't have your past..And I like who you are." Those words really helped me. You have captured the same type of notion. The past is part of who we have become and I also understand the mention of your children. What a fabulous piece, I just love it. The words are few, but powerful and moving. Great work, really! Write on!

I WISH I WROTE THIS!
This powerful climax gave me chills. It is profound and well delivered. Building up expectation with all the tragic what ifs- you really pack a powerful punch in this closing.
IMPRESSIVE STUFF - and you call it rambling? LOL!
Dear Jani, I very much enjoyed this.
Warm Regards,
rama devi

These are some very self-reflective thoughts you have shared here. Sounds like you had it rough, but weathered the storm and found a treasure (your children) before the ship sank. Nice work. Hugs and smiles, Susanne
