I guess even ghosts go back to their favorite home to live out their life ... um, their afterlife. With coffee:-)
I don't read a lot of poetry, but your picture drew me in. The words of your poem are so true - when I walk into someone's home for the first time, I always look around to see what kind of person they really are.
I think this is a lovely entry for the contest. Good luck!

I love the picture of the smug casper with his cup of hot tea(or coffee) and enjoying the warmth from an ancient fireplace.
I love to look around a house and see what I can deduce about its inhabitants...All the best for the contest

Loved the illustration. Must have been a old deserted home taken over by the ghosts of time. Some say we leave a footprint in a home well loved when we move on. Different, entertaining and well presented. K xx

An excellent entry for the 5-7-5 poetry Contest. This is so true. I find it so interesting to go into people's homes and get a sense of who they are by the things they collect and have around the home. I like the presentation of your poem as well. Good luck in the contest.

I just love the artwork with the Casper look alike sitting there looking most comfortably in a sort of Dickensian setting, I think you've done a great job with this 5/7/5 poetry contest, good luck, blessings Roy

Thisbis so true. What we adorn our homes with says a lot about us. Your photo is rather humorous. Makes me want to stay away from antiques LOL.
Good job and a great entry in the 5-7-5 contest. Good luck!

This is so true. I think you can make a home anywhere, the same as many people never make a home, they only ever have a house. I've known people like that. A lovely 5-7-5 poem, senyai.

A house can be full of stuff and still feel empty. But a house with barely any stuff can feel warm and inviting - because of the love shared in it. That's a home with heart.

That's a good one. Interestingly enough, it is more than a truism. People make themselves at home when they are comfortable. Comfort is different for most people. Good luck in the contest.
