Cecilia,
A wonderful poem about a beautiful bird. I love your words; and the glittering photo tops off a great work.
Great work, Cecilia.
Good luck.
Best wishes,
Cindy

Your lovely poem about the humming bird is very descriptive. It is fascinating to stand and observe the behaviours of these animals and be able to put them down like your excellently did. Thanks for sharing your work. Well done, my friend.

Hello Cecilia.
Your first stanza starts out with an excellent descriptive narrative of how the hummingbirds fly and feed. Your poem is interesting and draws a very illustrative vision. To me, they are some of the most interesting birds in the world. I love to watch them when I have an opportunity. Your poem is well written.

Oh wow! Cecelia, that must have been something very special to see.... I think they are so lovely and small with their fluttering wings. Truly enjoyable.

It's been non-stop but I just sat down for the first time and had to send off a quick note. Loved the poem and you.

They said your book would be here Saturday, but now it's Tuesday. It mad me sad, as I am looking forward to reading it.

On the bus on the way to the airport, the woman I was sitting with saw a book I had by James Patterson...she said she loved his books and I said I did to...She asked what other writers I enjoyed and you know I had to open my phone to show her I had just published. She got so excited and bought it right then. I was so flattered and we chatted during the entire trip from Rockford to Ohare airport. It was awsome.

Amazon says my book comes tomorrow. So I will finally get to hold it in my hands. Can't wait!

I am so so jealous. Here in the UK the only place to see hummingbirds would be a zoo or a documentary.
Your love for mother nature and all her creations is so obvious in your writing.

If my work is so wonderful and great work. Why the poor rating?

You're entitled to your own opinion. You are the only one who has marked me low. If you're going to do that then explain what you think is the problem.

You don't make sense. You put good comments, but give me a poor star review. I really would like some feedback other than seriously.

I too am a nature lover, Humming birds are dear to me and we are fortunate to have plenty in Southern California. I enjoyed your poem very much. Don and Vicki.

I have been to the US four times, but never saw a single hummingbird, I saw fire bugs for the first time in Pennsylvania, we don't have those either, nor squirrels, beautifully written Cecilia, blessings Roy

Oh, Australia is beautiful. I have been to Sydney and Perth. I like Perth better as it was more country and it was neat to see the kangaroos everywhere.

Your love of hummingbirds strikes a fond memory for me, you brought them back to life for me. Had one of the few if any feeders at my condo in the Colorado mountains, people left in droves during the pandemic. A plethora of them would feed all day long, able to actually touch them while feeding. A scary incident happened though. Can say I am actually one of us who has ever held one, basically saved its life. Mistakenly left the screen door open when refilling the feeders. One then followed me inside. The cat went crazy and locked her up. The hummingbird was flying into the windows, I was unable to catch it, didn't know to do this. How do you catch a hummingbird? Tried towels, sweepers, no luck. Saw it losing feathers, then it slammed hard into a window. I thought it was dead, luckily not. Gave it CPR as I am a Veterinarian, blew into its beak, massaged its chest, came back to life. Happily saw it fly away, back to the trees. The screen door was kept closed there after when changing the feeders.

    Rick,

Oh what a funny story. Those hummingbirds fly like mad and don't know how you could have caught. Luckily you were able to revive it.

I love the topic of this write, having my own encounter with these unique creatures of the bird species on our planet. I would imagine humming birds cover most land mass with accessible water resource. I found them amazing to watch, so much more faster, having abilities beyond most species. A super shout.

Thank you for the kind review. I love hummingbirds. I make their food for them with out all the red dye. I don't even know why the manufactures do.
