I absolutely love this. Your portrayal of everyone is perfect- I could just see it! I especially loved Mrs KT's entrance- "with her beautiful, deep-dimple smile on display." You guys have created something truly wonderful here. Ok, off to read Gretchen's!!

This was an excellent chapter for this adventure, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I always look forward to more so now I 'm over to see what Gretchen has to say about the party in the penthouse.

This is wonderful. I couldn't help but to laugh out loud. You and Gretchen are doing a wonderful job writing this. I don't think I've enjoyed anything as much. Thank you for sharing.

But, did you like your cameo appearance??!! xoxoxox
reply by barbara.wilkey on 27-Oct-2024
Certainly did. I will try to write something, but right now, I haven't come up with any ideas. I promise to work on it.

    Correct. Thursday at midnight.

I have been thinking about it. So far, I've got myself in the elevator thinking about all the people I'll see and nothing more. LOL

You're creative; there's not a doubt in my mind but that you'll come up with something terrific!!

We'll see, but nothing really right now.

You two are nutty as a squirrel's pantry. You got my cowpoke look down, but you missed my hat and the panache with which I pulled the whole thing off. Moreover, 'I want snacks?' Those are the words you put into the mouth of the undisputed King of Dialogue? Sheesh! Next time I insist on writing my own lines.

Rachelle, Gretchen, I love this bit of silly fantasy--and any time to wish to stage such a party, count me (and my hat) in.
As for your 'Write a Chapter' challenge, I'll try to oblige, but I haven't kept up with the story, and yet know if I can fit the template you've created. I do love the style with which you both write.

Since I left FS, I've channelled most of my creativity back into music. I realized I can't entertain two mistresses, so I've let my writing slide. But, I just checked my guitar into rehab--cracked bridge, loose neck, and the like. I won't get it back for three or four weeks. Good luthiers cannot be rushed. I'm Jonesing. But if I buy a second guitar, I know I'll spend money I don't have. We guitarists tend to do that. We're like kids in a candy store--I can't visit a guitar store and leave emptyhanded. Ain't possible. So, maybe I can distract myself with your challenge.

By the way, if you still have the suite, how 'bout putting me up for a few nights? I promise, no hank-panky.

Piece,

Lee

What? No hanky-panky? Then whyever in the world would we agree to put you up? Your charming reparte? To steal your hat? Honestly, Del, you're as in need of repair as your guitar!!

Thank you for the fun review and the extra sparklers.

Since when does 'no hanky-panky' mean no hanky-panky? Are you new, or what? I'll take all the hanky I can panky. This is fun, Shelly, but 'I want snacks?' You don't think I'd be ready with a better line than that?

"Forsooth and alas!" said Humpwhistle. "Might I partake of some sumptuous liquids and fibrous sustenance?"

PLMK if I should substitute the original dialogue with this...

Such a rollicking good chapter this was, Rachelle. I can see why you had such a blast writing it. What great caricatures you presented, and now with Jane's entry, a stink bomb has been thrown into the room. It will certainly be entertaining to see the effect she has on this motley group.

I loved your portrayal of everyone. Such vivid mental images you gave us. This has been and continues to be an immensely fun story.

Gretchen is taking us the rest of the way later on today with her chapter. All I can say is: Hold onto your seat!!! It's going to be a doozy!

After this, we have just one more chapter to go.

I'm so appreciative of your having stayed on this wild ride with us the entire way. It's meant the world. xoxoxo

I swear by everything in my life, I could see them all exiting the elevator. I am goin to have these visions in my head for the rest of the day. I could even see myself all decked out. By the way, whatever you did to my hair, it looked fabulous. Lol. This was such a cool chapter because it did include so many of the writers that we've known for years. Of course, Humpwhistle would be the one cracking the smart ass remarks from the elevator. Of course, Dolly would be the fashionista. Of course, Gypsy would be giving off the Stevie Nicks vibe. This was absolutely wonderful and then the cliff hanger of Jane Babies crashing the party. I'll bet it was complete silence as soon as she opens her mouth. Like someone splashing cold water the fire. I am going to have to really work hard on this chapter. This was excellent. By far one of the most memorable chapters in this story. Gretchen

I consider it the penultimate luxury to be able to write whatever I want, knowing without one milisecond's worth of doubt in my mind that you will grasp the baton and catapult the story seamlessly ahead. You are the kind of co-author absolutely ANYONE would die to have. I feel so lucky that it's me who gets the privilege. Can't wait to see where this takes us!!

Good morning, Rachelle!
What a hoot!
"Powder Keg" doesn't even come close to what it would feel like to the likes of Robert and Roy should I be straddling their backsides as I made my grand entrance!
Good Lord!
No amount of Ibuprofen or hot tub moments would ever make those two gentlemen feel the same again... ever! Poor souls!
But I do appreciate the fact that you think that I am still capable of lifting "one leg at a coquette angle while placing both hands flat beneath her chin." Now that is a visual I shall not soon forget! Love it!
Your imaginative soiree (Is that the right word?) into the lives and looks and personalities of your selected FanStorians is in a class all of its own:
memorable, fun, creative, and much needed!

So very much enjoyed, Rachelle!

There is no way that your post and all it's celebrating deserve anything less than a six. You did a magical job with each FS friend, and I enjoyed every second. Congratulations on all your efforts. It was fun!

I was thoroughly entertained here Rachelle, your post is full of excitement, you brought so much humour for us that I laughed all the way through. I loved the personalities as you brought everyone to life with their individual style and I felt I was there at this convention and if one really did exist I would be sure to attend! I just loved this post, your talented pen gave us all a treat here and I hope everyone who reads it awards you with a six as this is what this post deserves. Thank you for your thoughtful story about the diverse mix of writers on Fanstory and I'm not sure you mentioned what you were wearing for this convention Rachelle? Let me guess, I long royal blue Dior fitted satin dress slashed to the waist fitted with a diamanté centre piece, long gloves to match finished off with a large diamond cluster designer ring. Love Dolly x x x

Whoa!! I should have had you as my wardrobe mistress!! No, my outfit is the one I bought at the mall back in Long Island when we were getting Rebekah's recital dress. I'm in a short, sequinned emerald green number with matching stilettos.

Thanks for this glorious review. I could not appreciate it more.
