Oh, Stevie boy, the werewolf king, the creator of vicious attacks by the hairy monsters, and with the ability to make us like what the victim gets. LOL. Happy Birthday, Steve! Belated or not. And thanks, as always, Debi, for sharing the special news!

Hi Ric, I happen to know for a fact that Steve really loved your reference to him, Stevie boy and Werewolf King. So thought I would pass that on to you. Not too often I get to chat with them and have them tell me how they reacted to certain reviews. I love giving that kind of news.
Anyway, you are so sweet and I thank you so very much for kind comments for Steve and his poem. Thanks again, my dear friend.
Love, Debi

I love Steve's writing. I'm so glad I found his work when I did. He's a true horror writer and we need one here. This was a brilliant poem that gave tribute to him. Thank you for letting everyone know. Happy belated birthday, Steve. Gretchen

Hi Debi,
I really like how you do birthday tributes for everyone. You have a talent and make it look so easy.
I noticed you live in Maple Lake, MN. My husband is from Rockford and we lived up there a for 8 years. Y'all can keep those frozen winters.
Great job one again

Cecila, you are such a dear. I thank you so much for this lovely review, comments and generous six stars.
How funny is that you lived only 15 miles from me at one time. I would right there with you if it weren't that my husband loves ice fishing so much. Are you using your maiden or married name?
Also just want you to know I will be able to do your poem the first or second of November. I will let you know which one for sure. And thanks again. Love, Debi

I am using my married name. Minnesota is a beautiful state, but the winters are brutal.

Your husband isn't a Finlander?

What a great, amusing birthday tribute for Steve which kept me smiling all the way through. I really enjoy Steve's posts and am surprised, Debi, you didn't get a lovely fishy pun out of his impressive Dodie (Rae) book which I've been reading with horror-filled enjoyment. Wonderful visual and captivating title! Thank you for sharing, Debi, and a belated Happy Birthday, Steve! Love Debbie

Oh Debbie, didn't you have the fun at the party though? That was supposed to be my fun for the post and I don't know if anyone got it. Did you??
Someone actually thought I was calling him a fisherman that lies. I was calling all fisherman liars. That was the joke. I just need if anyone thought it was funny besides me.
And I haven't read his book as of yet, as I am not reading hardly anything. My voice-over is so bad and I am awaiting a $100,000. Worth of eye drops for a two month rare treatment from the pharmaceutical company. My eye clinic had to jump through hoops to get it but they were able to prove that I need it. Then in a few months I will be having the cornea transplant when they find the donor.
Thanks Debbie for the unusual reply but I haven't heard from Steve and I am hoping he liked his poem and now not sure he will take that one verse as a joke. Could you let me know honestly how you took it. Thanks! Debi

I can't believe anyone would be offended by your obvious humour and punning. Anyway of course they tell tales on the river bank and then recite them afterwards. What else is there to do? Don't worry at all:)
-
My last paragraph was supposed to say sorry about the unusual reply. Not thank you for the unusual reply.
I appreciate your response and I just heard from Steve and he loved it. Thanks again. I will see you later.
-
I wondered about that but glad everything's sorted. Did you like my pun on Dodie Rae -Ray? I was quite pleased with that:))
-
I did not catch that and just did now. Duh!! Sorry, so much on my mind. LOL
Good one!

Hi Debi,
I don't know neonewman, but now I'll have to look him up. A fisherman who lies is special. And I love that you've nicknamed him "Pinocchio".
That's my favorite verse,
"So, Steve, we'll show you how our fishing birthday parties go
We'll all write a "Fish tail" and see whose noses start to grow
And if you win the prize, I guess it's only fair you know
That at the party you'll have to dress like Pinocchio"
My biggest fish was a lake trout I caught at Mosquito Lake, an appropriate name for a lake because the mosquitos ate us alive! I was a leader in the Christian Service Brigade back in those days, and we always took the boys on a special trip at the end of the year (June). They had given up fishing for the day, and it was near sunset when I caught a whopping 16 1/4 inch trout right from shore. You should have seen the boys run for their fishing rods when they saw my trophy!
Anyway, you're the Birthday Queen, introducing us to writers we may not know, helping them get acquainted with fellow Fanstorians. "neonewman" sounds like a great guy who probably has had to put up with a few nasty hurricanes in his day.
"House of the Rising Sun" was one of the first songs I learned to play on the guitar back when I was around 15 years old. And "Have You Ever Seen Rain" is my favorite CCR song. But I never cared for Mr. Presley.
Hugs,
Kimbob

Oh no, Kimbob, is that what you got from my verse? That I nicknamed him Pinochio? That I am calling him a liar? Please tell me you were joking.
I thought people understood that verse was all in fun.. Or are you joking?
I just want to be sure before he reads.it,
-
Hi Deb,
I took it as fun. Almost every fisherman is a liar! And your nickname of "Pinocchio" for us all is very proper, unique, right on target! You shouldn't change it. It's special.
Hugs,
Kimbob

Oh thank you. It's my imaginary birthday party I always make up. And I thought that would be a funny theme by telling a fish tail, tale. LOL... but I wasn't sure if you were making a joke or serious so I had to ask. Because if you were serious I would have removed that whole verse. That last whole stanza I always try to do something funny and relatable to the person. So I am glad that you were kidding around about it. I should have known. Thanks so much!

Thanks so much.

Great post, sis.
I've fanned Steve a while back and have enjoyed his writing.
Now, as your writing goes I love this stanza and how it relates to your poem-
So, Steve, we'll show you how our fishing birthday parties go
We'll all write a "Fish tail" and see whose noses start to grow
And if you win the prize, I guess it's only fair you know
That at the party you'll have to dress like Pinocchio
A "whale" of a start to our Sunday morning...
Love ya!

And the lovely Birthday Queen has scored once again! Maybe we should call you the Hallmark Queen of FS because you do it easily and gracefully for everyone. Happy Birthday to Steve, and thank you for introducing us to him. Late might not be great because it gives us reason to celebrate. That gives us all a smile and we are happy at least for a while.
