Tony, this is wonderful news! Congratulations on all your recent successes. The Ponyfish sounds a little too fantasy-oriented for me, but I'd be interested in reading Panpipes. I know it's on this site, but I'd like to support your book sales by buying that one. Also on Amazon?
Wishing you all the best in your future ventures.

Thank you very much for your kind words and encouragement, Pam. It's always good to hear from you, and kind of you to say you'll be buying a copy of Panpipes. I hope you enjoy it. All of my publications can be accessed via the bit.ly link in my author notes. Alternatively, you can 'Antony Fawcus' into the Amazon search box. (The inverted commas around my name prevent Amazon from redirecting your search to Anthony Fauci!) All good wishes, Tony
The Ponyfish actually has very little fantasy in it except in the book that is being written about seahorses by the protagonist, which references aboriginal creation stories. The main themes, apart from the developing relationship between Ant and Dorrie, are marine conservation and homelessness on the streets of Melbourne.

Thank you, Tony.

Congratulations Tony! I will certainly check this out. This is a great book launch poem and certainly does entice me. I am a huge fan of sea horses. And how great to be a female seapony and not have to give birth - they have to be one of the few species where the male gives birth. I watched a video on youtube and my goodness, I actually felt sorry for the little guy. He birthed something like 40,000 baby seahorses! It was fascinating to watch.
Thanks for sharing and I will be sure to check out your book.
Best Regards,
Amelie

Thank you very much for your kind words and encouragement, Amelie. It's kind of you to say you'll check out 'The Ponyfish'. This version is a heavily edited version of the story I posted on FanStory two or three years ago. A great deal of information about seahorses is woven into the storyline. I hope you enjoy it. All good wishes, Tony

Just to let you know Tony, I checked out your book on Amazon and for paperback it is showing up as unavailable.

Hi Amelie
The bit.ly link I gave was for amazon.com
For amazon.co.uk, try https://bit.ly/4ffDg96
Alternatively, type my name in the Amazon search box: 'Antony Fawcus'.
(Putting inverted commas around it will stop Amazon from redirecting you to Anthony Fauci)

Great use of a poem, to promote your newly released stories. You certainly have been busy, Tony. Wishing you much success with both publications.
As for this poem, nothing less than I would have expected from you. Well crafted, excellent rhyme and meter, and humorous as well.
Nice job,
Craig

I like this, it's irreverent, it's humorous and it's delightful. What more could any reader want in poetry. I enjoyed this thoroughly. Still not enough. Must be close now.

Good on you Terry. It takes great perseverance to complete works such as novels. In addition, you are battling the normal "life" things. Well done and I may just sneak a peak in the next day or two.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow! You have been busy! Deserving of a sixth star for that if nothing else!
I remember the Ponyfish well and i will certainly have a look. did you do all your own editing, or did you hire somebody to pass an impartial eye over the draft? I suspect the tightening up is almost certainly beneficial, but cutting by a third seems drastic!
The poem is a clever hook and great advertising value.
Good luck with the hardest part of publishing a book - getting the darn thing to sell.

Thanks, Steve. I appreciate the sixth star for effort!
I did my own line editing, with some help from Grammarly and the text-to-voice and find-and-replace facilities on Word. I also submitted the original version to WritersSA for a manuscript assessment. This gave me the things FanStory never gives; honest assessments of the overall shape of the story and the development of character. I used this advice to strengthen the character of Ant, giving him a more defined purpose, and to pare away many of the subplot meanderings. I also used the Atticus software to prepare the finished manuscript for publication on KDP, which made creating a product that complied with Amazon requirements a piece of doddle. When I published Into the Lion's Den back in 2020, that aspect was a comparative nightmare.
I doubt I shall sell many copies, though several FanStory members have been kind enough to buy some. I'll probably end up giving most away to family, so they have something to remember me by when I eventually peg it. Facebook cut the ground from under me a year or two ago, closing my account because it was linked to my B&B email which became defunct when I closed down my B&B website. I lost 500+ 'friends' in the process, several of whom had bought previous publications. To make it worse, my Facebook author and poet pages are now useless, as they are linked to the closed personal page and I can no longer edit them.
Not that it much matters, as I write mainly for my own amusement. Now that I am a retired octagenarian, it gives me purpose beyond walking the dog and pottering in the garden.
