I don't have a 6 left or you would surely get it for this poem.
There's not a day goes by that I don't think about what a strain I was on my parents; also the bad decisions I made throughout my life. I've been trying to make up for them for many years but my parents were already gone. So, you see, your poem resonated with me. Thank you for it.

Hi Roy,
I like your image at the beginning as it helps me to think of the rest of the poem sort of being the musings of a man who has PTSD, or just experiences from the horrors of war. Granted you don't have to go to war to have these situations, but you set a scene and I'm pretty sure many of us can relate, one way or another. I know I can.

We find hope and rest in the Lord and that's what delivers us.

Take care,
Rhonda

I've never regretted my mistakes or misfortunes. They have shaped me and made me understand and appreciate the good. I've learned to accept my fate just knowing God has a plan for me. We are shaped by every moment in our lives. Gretchen

I have often found myself in a reflective mode as you have penned though without regrets. For as long as there is life, there is always room for improvement, a conscious and difficult step to be a better person. Thanks for sharing your inspiration. Well done, dear Roy.

Hi Roy,
Beautifully written and related to the selected scripture.
So many people could relate with the desire and the result but too little, too late doesn't change a thing.
We can live but once so placing faith and trust in God through actions and prayer and the teachings from the scriptures gives rernewed hope for salvation.
Blessings
Shirley

What a great message. One we can all relate too. I lived my life with few regrets, simply because I have always put God first, and followed most of his rules. Sometimes I twist the truth to keep others from being hurt. Your poem makes the reader think, I like that.

If we all could put the past, we had and never remember it anymore, it would be a blessing. However, we cannot completely forget about the past and at times it will come back to remind us of where we've been, but in the reminding it also shows us the goodness that we received when God saved ourselves. Patricia.

What if! Or why didn't I see? Hindsight of where we have ben and what has happened doesn't always make us see how it could be different until we truly walk in the light and then understand.

We can all look back at the past and wish we'd walked a different path at times- but that's not realistic. We all make mistakes, but we are wise if when we learn about the One who is Truth we accept Him. He uses our past for His purposes.

I'm sure this is the story of many of our lives. Those two words, If Only, so often crop up in discussions of my past. Those same two words contributed to so many of my mistakes. Conversely, those same two words probably turned us into better and certainly, smarter men. I didn't often make the same mistake twice. Usually, three or four times, I wasn't a quick learner. Another great write Mr. Owens.
Sorry no sixes left.
