I had an aunt who was a kleptomaniac. She would lift anything. Salt and pepper shakers from restaurants. Metal pizza trays as well. She used to carry a huge shoulder bag and load it up.

She would even try to get us kids to shove things in our pockets and has been banned from many stores.

By the way....she was loaded. Sixer for me as it you named me laugh!

I had it briefly when I was afraid my husband was dying. Years and years ago. Just a couple of months. It is all about loss of control. Thanks for the read. Karen

You led me to a low point in the creek where I could cross over, I thought, and then the ending came and ... what was it she had to tell. So unfair. Was she a klepto, too.

Beyond adorable, my friend! I truly loved how you weaved the love story with both men wanting sweet Phillippa and our minds were focused on Harold's problem... and surprise!!! She has one too!
Loved it!

Very clever twist. Nicely done.
I would rather stick to club soda, than have to count drinks. - You don't need this comma.
Is this a picture of you? She is quite lovely, if I may be so bold.
Best wishes.

Hello KCT,

This is a very sharp piece - he who thieves last, etc. You have a great sense of humour and of pace too, easy on the reader.
I had difficulty with the tense at one point and there are several nits that need unknotting (well, as I see them - I apologise if I have misread the piece at any point)

Harold Q.(Quincy) (space missing between the stop and the brace)
therapy check ups several (check-ups)
So you could safely (So, - I think)
But, he was not the only (But he - no comma, I think!)
Angus saying, " Here is your fresh dill darlin'." (close up the space after " and before Here)
had his intestines removed . (remove extra space after 'removed')
"Am I still picking you up at seven, dear? (seven, dear - insert space)
hug a little , and (remove extra space after 'little)
although he hopes that Angus develops (hoped)
Harold beat out Angus to ask (remove extra space after 'Angus')
She cooked a mild dinner (remove extra space after 'cooked')
he had a " chock full of chocolate" and (remove extra space after " and before 'chock')
and the dance was tonight (I think it should be 'that night' - the tense changes in this section, I think you could look at this)
The big night is here, (arrived - see note above regarding tense)
got her was off white with lavender (off-white)
which was many light colors. (I am not sure 'was' is correct - included, comprised...something like that might be better)
the gossamer swirls swayed when (remove extra space between 'swirls' and 'swayed')
Phillippa said,"I know these (said, "I know - insert space)
and said, "Harold , take a pill, (remove extra space Harold and before the coma)
I wish you well with your continued writing.
cheers

phill

I appreciate all the time you took to improve my writing. I will perform most of the edits. Sometime Fan Story puts extra spaces in after the fact, I do not know why. I am well known for the ironic twist. And, that she turns out to be a kleptomaniac too. made me laugh. Thanks so much. Karen

I didn't get it at first but the key to understanding it was in the very first sentence - and then I realised that when his pockets were empty it did not mean that he hadn't stolen anything, just that she in turn had stolen them from him. Clever and intriguing. Well done.

You got it in one sweet pea. What is obvious to me, is not to others. My brain knows these things because I wrote it, but sometimes my sneaky thoughts do not connect with others. Thanks for the read and swell comments. Karen

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Phillippa is a sweet girl, and poor Harold, I'm sorry to say, sounds a little desperate. It had humor, intrigue, and a twist at the end. Thank you for an enjoyable read.

They are both kleptomaniacs. Made for each other. In my head anyway. Thanks for the read. Karem

Oh-oh. What kind of problem? Everything is going so well. For once, you didn't kill anyone off and Philippa is so sweet to carry his needed meds. Hope Angus stays away!
