nicely done tale about fishermen lost at sea. So many sailors and fishermen had lost their lives at sea over the years, you captured the horror and the feeling of being lost at sea in this poem

Hi Jim
This is a well told story of seamen who had a bad few days. Ha Ha. It is witty and its rhyming couplets make the story go as quickly as their lives.
I would think that haddock would smell up the whole house, not just the attic.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Good entry for the club.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend
Joan
P S If I haven't told you yet I have just published a book titled 'The Interloper and other stories in prose and poetry' by Joan Pechter. It is available on Amazon.com. If I told you, I am sorry for the repetition.

Thanks for the info. Right now, as I almost died when my wife died, and I have a daughter who needs help, my niece took over as my power of Attorney to assure she gets taken care of. At present, she is taking care of my expenses, so I'll have to go through her to purchase it.

This is a fishy tale. I think a rotten fish in the attic wouldn't be a very healthy memento and I'm not usre a stuffed tomato would be enough after being without food so long. You pome rhymes and was fun to read.

LOL That was the Ballad of the Haddock! I think we should put it to music! We can use an old sea shanty as the melody. I will get right on it! Great tale done in poem form.

Not a bad idea. My daughter loves to write songs, but I think she'll pass on this.

A isn't tale indeed Jim and fish left for a while smells awful and it is best to eat fish when it is fresh! You poem darted about somewhat and I found myself a bit confused by the end of your poem, I was swimming with the fishes, love Dolly x

I'm sorry I left you in the drink. I'd rather leave you WITH a drink. Soft drink, that is.

What an unusual tale of a group of fifteen men who couldn't figure out how to survive on a fishing trip. Only one man who hadn't eaten in days, left the boat alive and was able to ultimately get hold of a tomato to eat. As gruesome as the story is, it has a smelly, but happy ending. Great entry for the club.

right now, my wheelchair is running out of power. I have to wait another day and hopefully can get it fixed. That's the sort of thing you get when you're stuck in one spot.

What an imagination. I have the ten little Indian story many times. You did it justice. Tongue in cheek works well for you. But tell me frind, why does the fish still stink? Karen

So much violence on this fishing trip. I guess this story/poem had a good ending. I'm curious why didn't they fish instead of killing each other. I guess maybe I missed something. Thank you for sharing.

Well, well, well.
Guess you could just about put anything in the old attic that you had a mind to.
Before it ended, six lost their tale - (tail?)
The rhyming might have been a bit contrived and forced, but it perfectly matched your theme song. Great work! (sincere face here)

I'm stuck in my wheelchair now. It has to be fixed. Can't go much anywhere, so I was trying different rhymes and contests.
