So sorry Debi for all you going through beside the usual trials of life. Prayers are with you that the healing will begin and you will get good news by Friday. Doctors are amazing and I have faith that you will be healed.

Blessings, love and prayers my friend

Janet, thanks so much. I wasn't sure it was a good idea to bring this out in the open, but many said it would clear up the questions after Helen so sweetly requested prayers for me but I didn't know about it.
I meant to ask you how your grandson is doing and I have had him in my prayers too. Well you all are.
So thanks for the very kind words and for the prayers.
    Love, Debi

I think it was a good idea. As friends, we would rather know than wonder.

Tristan has his final surgery on Monday and it went extremely well.
He has a long way to go to heal but the doctors say he will make a full recovery and have no scarring on his face. They are still concerned about infection, so he will be hospitalized for a while yet but the family is praising God for his goodness and love for Tristan. He has survived a stroke resulting in brain surgery, then heart surgery and now this. I tell him God is preparing him for something big in his life.
Thank you so much for asking and for your prayers of Tristan.

Blessings and prayer for you and your recovery.
    Janet

My dear, I know you've tried to keep this private and I do understand, but also understand you've asked for prayer for many of us. Let us extend this to you. If people say something ugly to you about it, or do something passive aggressing to make you feel bad, know there are more who care than who don't!

Love you much, and praying for a complete recovery,
Rhonda

Thank you for sharing this with us, Debi. I'd hoped that your eye was getting better but it seems to be a stubborn infection and resistant to antibiotics. The good thing is that you have such a great doctor offering you options such as stem cell replacement. That's proper care they wouldn't even venture to consider here. Hold tight, Debi, because the body may still need time to do the job naturally. I know I've heard of this before and it did clear up of its own accord. Love Debbie

Hi Debbie, this must be a little bit different than what you are thinking about Debbie, as he has said from the start that there was only so much time because of all the layers of problems that they needed to clear up at least a few of the infections to get to the abrasions and if they don't do it on that timeline I would lose the eye.

I don't understand it, but he has been so overly insistent on that so I don't know what he is seeing but he had a cornea surgeon and another cornea specialist come in and look at it at different times since I have to go daily. And they are all are in agreement on this.

But today I will try to listen more carefully what is going on as I go in to see him every week day. He even gave us his personal phone number in case there is any changes. It has been a month and he says we have to make the decision by Friday.

I wish I knew what you knew so I could give him that info and ask what the difference is. As I am not looking forward to either of these situations.
Thanks so much, Debbie. Love, Debi

Debi, I am so sorry to hear about your eye. My prayers are with you. Did Covid cause this? I had been stung in my eyelid last summer, it swelled up and I had to go to the eye doctor for medicine. It was nothing like what you are going through. I hope the cornea looks better and no further treatment is needed. Take care. Love, Brenda

Omg I'm so sorry to hear of this Debbi! You are very lucky 9ndeed to have such a dedicated doctor. I'm very curious about the stem cell replacement. Please keep us posted

I have bilateral ischemic optic neuropathy. I lost a big chunk of vision back in 2014 and am unable to drive a car. My eyes hurt sometimes really bad.

I am going to keep you in my prayers. I'll pray that one of these techniques will work for you! In my case an optic nerve transplant would be needed but that's a tricky operation

Your poem is really well done and certainly comes from the heart.
Keep us posted!

as the son of a man who had only one eye I can relate. My father when he was a young lad was out shooting rattlesnakes in the Yakima, Washington desert, and the bullet hit a rock and ricocheted back taking out his eye and his ear. they gave him a permanent glass eye and he was deaf in one ear and spent six months in a hospital recovering. Despite this, he went on to a great career and how he managed to become a good driver with one eye still amases me. He was of a generation that did not complain and he never complained about his bad ear and his lost eye.

Yeah, Jake, I did not want to write this. I told three good friends they were not to post poems for me. Well one friend did it anyway, because she didn't know. Then I had so many questions coming at me all day long so someone said just write a poem and end it all. So that is why the first line reads like that.
Amazing how we are resilient when we are young and we even have to accept what we are handed when we get older, so in the words of my mother on her death bed from pancreatic cancer, "So many others have it worse than I do."
This was what she said when I said I wished I could do something more for her. Down to sixty pounds and no food or water for weeks because they thought she would die right away. Remarkable woman too. Just like your dad. Thanks for the kind words, my friend. Love, Debi

Aw baby sis, I am so sorry for your current misfortune. It just breaks my heart that someone who cares and does so much for other people is made to suffer so much, so often. It is just not fair. You give so much and receive so little in return. May God eventually shower a ton of blessings upon you. Your loving BBBB.

Oh, Debi, I'm so sorry you're have to go through this. I've had a scratched cornea before, but mind was form a infection I got from wearing contacts. The drops healed after a couple of weeks. Your eye problem sounds more serious, so you will definitely be in my prayers.
