My nephew has a cat that looks much like Kevin, and he is somewhat obsessed with it, as he has the cat prion.

I thought stanza 4 had the best metering, and stanza 1 was the most entertaining. On stanza 2 (First, he had taken quite a fall) try: "FOR he had taken..."

Hey there SS! Believe it or not, I have never been a cat lover. I am a dog lover. But Kevin was an adorable cat with so much personality and he grew on me.
He will certainly be missed. Thanks for your suggestion and like always, I appreciate it very much. I will give it a try. I thought committee was also a mouthful for that one line, but they seemed to be the perfect phrase.

That's terrible. I've never had a cat, never wanted one, I've always had dogs. We have three. Or is it that the three dogs have us?
Hmph, I'll have to think about that!
Anyways, we've sent Shelby, Mindy, Chloe and Lola to the Rainbow Bridge, and I cried letting each one go.
It's sad losing an integral part of the family. And our dogs are family.

Hi John, believe it or not, I have never been a cat lover. I am a dog lover. But Kevin was an adorable cat with so much personality and he grew on me.
He will certainly be missed and I used to hate cats.

I too, have had so many that have had to be put asleep. I have held two dogs in my arms while my goddaughter vet came to the house to put them to sleep. Dogs will always be my preference but it hurts so bad to lose them.

Just a weird thing for me to learn to love Kevin but he was such a big guy and so noisy it was almost like having a dog around. LOL..

Beautiful photo to compliment your sad story of Kevin the cat. I often wonder why God didn't let them live as long as we do. I'm facing Benny's farewell, he's not much interested in life. I have no compunction about putting animals to sleep. It is a necessary part of owning an animal. Rather, they own us! Sorry for your loss but he will be at the Rainbow Bridge waiting for you. I feel bad hearing that since I know how much you two mean to each other. And you are right, they do own us. But boy when they are with us, they are truly devoted and loyal family members. Poor little guy has an abscess on his hip. He won't let me touch it, I used some Reiki on it this morning and it has burst. Fingers crossed. I can't afford the Vet @ $150! love, Kace. xx

This is such a sweet tribute to Kevin. He looks quite a bit like my cat, Chloe, who also feels like silk. But he sounds like a charmer and mine is a bite your fingers off cat that never makes a sound.

We owned 5 dogs in that time too, all except one were strays. We watched over a few stray teens too. They got it together and did well.
