How blessed you are to have the financial means to make this happen...and then to gather children and grandchildren all together is the finest gift of all...for you and each of them!
As your photos show, time flies out of our grasp and we blink to find what we thought would last forever simply can't.
So many families are split apart by distance, dysfunction, political viewpoints, etc...
It's the cherry on top to hear your vacation neighbors share how they observed each of your family members stepping up to be sure your needs were met safely and with a smile.
(Someone must have raised them right!--Good job, Debi!)
Laughter is sweeter than the sound of larks on a summer breeze.
Will you go to the same place next year?
It sounds perfect!

My dearest K, your sweet review is as lovely as the sound of the children's laughter.
Yes, we are able to do it, but then the kids told us that there is nothing they need for birthdays and Christmas so I have to quit buying for them for those occasions. That is so hard for me. I am the biggest kid in the family. They have taken a vote, and it is unanimous.
Thanks for all the kind comments about our vacation. We are truly blessed. And yes, this is not the same place as 2017, but it is the same place as last year. And before we leave each year, we put a down payment on next years. As long as we want it it is always ours for the next year at the same time. But if you dont book right away, you lose that spot.
Anyway, thanks for the very sweet compliment. I would like to think I did something right. (Smile)

I'm so pleased that you were able to gather together again this year, as is your tradition, to spend time as a whole with family. For us, it's Thanksgiving weekend. But, of course, we usually only have 4 or 5 days with them, and there's so much work to do on Thursday - it becomes overwhelming. Maybe we should start a new tradition of meeting at a lake, rent cabins, and just enjoy each other instead of food.
You are among the very lucky to have such a loving, caring family. Of course, that comes from how you and your husband raised them - our children tend to be "mini-me's" and their actions mimic ours.

Thank you my dear sis, and I appreciate your awesome review and kind comments. I am so glad that you do yours every year, as even your four or five days is better than some ever get. As one told us, it is nice to have the means to do that with family. It is really true and I am so thankful for that. We go to the same place every year and at the same time too. Thanks again for your sweet and meaningful words and your gracious six stars.
PS. One thing that wasn't so great about vacation is what we brought home with us. I don't know if you had heard that Glen tested positive for covid on Saturday as he sounded like a hoarse barking dog. I tested too but mine said negative. He went into urgent care and they said he was close to bronchial pneumonia and they confirmed it was covid. We've had it a few times but mostly it didn't seem so bad. But this was more like the first time in 2020.
I woke up Sunday and knew then that I too had it and got into the doc today and have the same thing. We both figure we caught it on our family vacation.
So it must have been someplace where the kids were not, yet it seemed we were mostly with them, except on the way there and back. I got up tonight as the coughing wouldn't cease and decided to review you and thank you all at one time. I haven't been doing any reviewing or thanking reviews except you since I got sick. LOL, after all if I fall off my chair from weakness, who better to have around but my sis. Thanks again. Love ya, Debi

Debi, I am so sorry to hear that you and Glen are so sick. Jim came home from our trip to Idaho with Covid, but he got on the Paxlovid right away and felt much better. Took him about a week. He's had it twice, but I haven't had it yet.
Please don't ever feel like you have to review FanStories when you are so sick - including me! If I were you, I would have been flat on the couch in front of a Netflix series.
Please get better soon. Even though, one could never tell that you're sick because you always have the same bright, positive attitude. That's a special blessing.
