And your words are poignant and honest here Wendy. Nature has a way of carving pretty pictures for us and we admire what we say and words, when used wisely can soothe and also tell some home truths, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thanks so much Dolly. Yes, words are such powerful influencers, both positive and negative, particularly over children, and their self-esteem. I greatly appreciate your review.

So well said! As a poet you know how much power words have, and you choose them well. If only more people would pause and think before they send out words that can destroy. Thank you for your poem.

Thank you so very much! You are right. The power of words, both to destroy and to heal, is enormous, immeasurable. Many thanks for the six stars. I am both delighted and honoured.

Brilliant thought provoking entry for the contest, Wendy. The second line is especially potent on a writer's site but it has universal application. It's strange but I recall critical words about me much more clearly than compliments. That's why I make an effort to watch my words, in particular when I speak to my grandkids or convey information in writing.
The first line is the imagery against which the second line is measured. It's stunning in its power. Almost frightening. Especially in these times of coastal erosion due to global warming.
I hope this entry does well. Kudos, Wendy

This so true. It is good sure of your six words. I think it is profound to compare the word with waves on a shoreline. Good luck in the contest. This should do well.

Oooh! That's an excellent six word poem! You use a metaphor of the waves changing the shoreline for the words that can shape our thought life and view of ourselves in life. Hope this does well in the contest!

Yes and oh how effective these succinct and shorter poetic forms can be and this is an example of that - sometimes we don't fully appreciate the powerful impact of our words.

Beautiful azure presentation! The words match. Blue. Waves do shape shorelines. Glaciers shape the earth. Takes millions of years of evolution. See you are a word weaver. Only thing about words in any book is you gotta check the authenticity and get proof that the words aren't made up by man. Very nice looking poem!

I love how your six-word poem draws such a deep connection between nature and our lives. The way you compare the shaping of shorelines by waves to how words shape our lives is really powerful. It makes me think about how both natural forces and the things we say have such a lasting impact. Your poem beautifully captures this idea with just a few words, and it really resonated with me.

So well said, Wendy! This is one of those I read and then I sit back and think "I wish I'd thought of that!"--
(Smiling here)
The perfect metaphor!
If this isn't a contender, people better start reading every entry as they should be!
