An excellent entry for the Write a Rant contest. Wow. I would say that your story is unbelieveable however i have no trouble believing it due to my own experiences at the dentist. That certainly is a rough way to find out the whole truth. I hope your final outcome makes it all worthwhile. good luck.

Thank you Marilyn, I hope so too. If it in goes well and everything heals it might be worth but I still believe they don't dare tell all the facts up front. I'm prertty sure I wouldn't have signned on.

AMEN!! I agree with your contest entry. They don't give us all the facts until it's too late. I think in a way that's lying. Your entry is very well written and laid out. Good luck with the contest.

Oh my gosh, Beth! I am sitting here, shivering at the thought as I read every word of your horrible journey. I had a dentist put a drill into the top of my mouth long ago and I've been beyond terrified since then. I know, just like you did, I need to have them fixed but...... I wondered about the advertisements of how easy and quick it could be...In and Out! Now, it'll be a long while before I see the inside of a dentist office.
Hugs, Carol

Thank you Carol. How horribe to have a drill somewhere other than on a tooth. I don't blame you for being scared. THanks for the comment on my rant.

Awhile back, I was in real pain but couldn't sit through the dentist, so we paid a handsome sum ($500) for one of those "comfortable clinics". Thy got me so drunk with whatever they gave me I was out through the whole procedure and it took three men to carry me to the car. My wife said we were never going to pay that kind of money again for that sort of thing.

Thank you Jim. I didn't know you pay extra to get comfortable. I rather have the pain that feel I was out of control because they gave something to miss with my brain. I wouldn't take anything to relax me but I did want my mouth numb.

Being claustrophobic, it was hard for me to sit in a dentist's chair. I'm a bit better now.

Then Dennis seem to get upset with us because we don't want to go back to the dentist with all of these terrible things happening. In my lifetime there has been over $40,000 worth of work done in my mouth and I told the dentist I will not do anything more with my mouth and my teeth except have my teeth cleaned twice a year. How I love your honesty, Beth! You're never afraid to speak it as you find it. And, if that means having quite a pop at yourself, for your lack of teeth or product research, then you go right ahead. I also admire your bravery because this sounded horrendous. But my favourite part is when the dentist and assistant found you hilarious when you weren't even able to talk. I think they live in a world of their own because they always start asking you things when they have a whole armoury of instruments inside your mouth! There are a few edits, all excusable because I imagine you're still feeling somewhat dizzy and disorientated. But a wonderful read and strong contender! Good luck! Debbie
I assumed it (must) be a new procedure
It sounded to(o) good to be true
pay the rest (of) your life way
The deadening was (subsiding?)
I ask(ed) the dentist
Soft food is recommended until the implants (heal)
a tro(o)per (if you mean soldier?)
foreseeable future?

Are you 'sure' that you feel better? Because I don't think I would until I got 'all' the work done and I felt comfortable enough to go back and strangle the life out of the lyin' dentist!
Hope you enjoy gruel.
Best wishes.

Thank you Wayne. I probably won't feel better until I know noting is going wrong. So far it feels okay and the altered eating habits are probably good for me. I do miss coffee. I don't care what they say it isn't going to just liquids. I want use the bottom teeth but I'll have ceral, soup and mashed up vegetables and fruit. I don't do meat anyway.
