I know that feeling. However in my case, I got it started by saying "I love you son" first. After that he had no choice but to repeat my sentence back to me with an "I love you too." Mission accomplished. We do not however, communicate every day. Still it is nice to hear.

Willie,
This is such a sweet ode to your son.
Your work fits the requirements of a four-line poem. Your words are brief, but very touching.
Great photo and poem.
Best wishes,
Cindy

Such a beautiful sentiment expressed here, the love, deep and profound between father and son and the concrete examples of this love - thanks for sharing this positive family moment.

Oh, can I relate to this one! My son (my youngest) calls me every night when he gets off of work. Sometimes we talk for a long time and others just a few minutes, but it means to world to me. funny how things and perspectives change as we age and know that the ticking clock says time is short.
Smiles, Carol

My sons do that as well. It's so lovely, isn't it. It means we did something right, and our sons have arrived as strong, confident, loving men. Your four-line poem made me smile. Well done and good luck in the contest. :) Sandra xx

An excellent entry for the Four line poem writing prompt. It sounds like you have every reason to be proud. It isn't every young man who would be so considerate. Thanks for sharing

This is such a touching little poem Willie and how proud you must be of your son as he is so very caring. Your poem brought a tear to my eye. I loved the picture of the two of you with your matching moustaches! Ha ha ha, love Dolly x

This is so simple but universally meaningful. It is beautiful in its simplicity. There is nothing more important in this world than the love we share with family! I am so glad you and your son enjoy such a special bond.

It's a grand thing when the adult offspring love you. It seems you did something right! Your poem says it all, really. Your abcb rhyme is a nice simple one that lets the message shine through.
