Great, now you are building new bridges ( hope they are concrete.) Writing is a wonderful way of letting of steam, instead of talking to yourself and getting to be a grump. Talk to us about your problems, good or bad. I listen. K xx

Thanks, Kay! For the offer to listen as well as the six stars! Both are greatly appreciated. Hopefully, I will be building new bridges instead of burning old ones.
I think it is healthy to be able to laugh at yourself.
Thanks for caring!

This was very well-written. It flowed well and was entertaining. Have you thought about including artwork with your writing? I didn't when I first started, and it was suggested to me that I do so. I started doing it and now I won't post without something.

Thanks, Monica, for this kind and thoughtful review. I am glad you were entertained while reading this poem.
Sometimes, I use artwork but usually, I don't find it necessary.
Thanks for the kind advice.

Hello, Jesse!
I love how you have taken control of your emotions in this poem!
Writing is so very cathartic, and I can tell that you enjoyed penning this piece.
I do have one small question though regarding the word, "Slipplin" = I have no idea what it means, but it surely is fun to say!
Thanks for sharing, Jesse!
"Nose to Toes!"

Good morning, Diane!
Thanks for the encouraging review.
Yes, I am having fun writing, and it is time to see my situation's lighter side.
It's fun to say, slippling has no particular meaning.
"Nose to Toes!"
Take care, my friend!

I wasn't sure at first if you were speaking of David. Now it sounds like you have won the battle against mental health issues despite the strength of your pouting opponent, who delights in turning diamonds into coal. Well done.

No, Wendy, this was not about David.
I wrote this for fun about my current state of mental health. Everyone at home loved it! At FS, everybody wants to analyze it and it wasn't meant to be taken seriously, just for fun. You, my friend, are on the right track. It is a battle against poor mental health. I am winning, at least so far!
Thanks for your kind words.
Have a great week.

This is an inside job. You have open the window and thrown open the door to your past indiscretions. Although you don't identify them specifically, I think your readers identify symbolically. We've all been there! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your insightful review. I like your view of my inside job where I open a window and throw open the door to my past indiscretions. How right you are!
Have a wonderful day.

Another fine poem, Jesse....and some days, as John Denver said, are diamonds, some days are stone; the key is ending. Up with more diamonds than stone, A work in progress with me for sure

Thanks, Mike, for the insightful review. Yes, some days are diamonds whereas other days are stones. We are both progressing in the right direction, my friend.

This is the best way of resolving some of those complex emotions that need to be aired in a creative way. Often, life doesn't make sense and people can't agree with each other. To turn turmoil or moodiness into fun can leave you feeling stronger and more victorious. Nicely done, Jesse. Burning bridges is ok and very therapeutic sometimes. Take care Debbie

This is an excellent yet lighthearted way to share with others that you're well aware you're not in the brightest of moods right now. Whether it's temporary due to life events, depression, or perhaps bipolarity -- a wee bit of venting in fine verse and inner and outer rhyme allows us to commiserate along with you.
Many of us have been there. I've turned my share of diamonds into coal, Jesse.
Just wondering -- what does "Slipplin" mean? (It may be one of those new-fangled words I haven't wrapped my head around yet)
They say that those who can laugh at themselves do win in the end!
You've ALWAYS been a winner in my eyes!

Thanks, Karenina, for your continued support and love in the face of my despair.
You know me too well, my friend and I can always count on you to see straight through to the core of what is going on with me.
"Slipplin," is just a word I made up.
Having fun and taking names is the game I play these days.
Have a great day.

I like "slipplin". -- I bet I find a way to slip it into conversation in the next 24 hours!
My hand is always on your back, Jesse!

That is great to know!
Have fun using "slipplin," in a conversation.

This person you refer to is me, Dolly. If I am accused of being swanky well then so be it.
Have a nice day.
