Thank you so much for your kind words! If I'm not writing directly about God, or posting something silly for sa contest, I like to write about the human condition and sometimes things in life don't end up with neatly wrapped packages. But I would rather be positive than too negative.

Though grim, as you stated, this story is well written and engaging. Your protagonist is well developed which entices the reader to his way of thinking. He draws the reader into his way of thinking as he recognizes and regrets his mistakes and understands the reasons for his consequences. This is an exceptional story.

So, the twist was that Molly was an undercover cop and she still didn't turn you in after you held a gun to her and forced her into a motel room to get the sleep you needed to keep on the run from the law. Maybe she did love you after all. I was seated on the edge of my chair reading this wondering how it would end and the surprise ending was a thrill in itself.

I could not stop reading...such an engaging tragic story. At least, both people found each other even if it was just for a very brief time. I think you could have won a contest with this posting. It really is an excellent piece of writing.
One small typo - a space needed after You've:
"Well, Mister Thorson, my story also sounds phony, but it's true. All you need to know is, I didn't take any money. You'vegot to believe that."

It isn't satisfying to see and innocent man charged with something he didn't do. Maybe you just consider yourself a realilst because this can happen in real life.

I don't always have such endings, but I do often. I try to write about situations that could happen in life, and the endings aren't often so pretty, though I enjoyed 31 years of happiness with my wife. Happy Easter!
