This is a neat story. I figured when to two male friend got together that mostly talked about football. This is neat dialogue even if you might be interview your alter ego. Just kidding. It sounds like two different people but only one of them is expressing his thoughts while the other is asking questions.

Beth, I think you picked up on something there about the alter ego. Thank you for reading. Terry.

I loved the Yogi Berra quote. Your story was full of insights, as well. I'm not sure if you can fall out of love with someone or not. As always, thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

You did an excellent job with the dialogue. It felt like a chat over a cup of coffee in someone's kitchen -- or maybe that was a beer at the local bar. Whatever, it felt natural and pleasant. good luck in the contest. ann

Ann, I'm pretty sure it was whiskey and wine, and done over the phone. I don't get out much anymore. Thank you for reading. Terry.

I think one of the most foolish things to believe is that of male/female love, it's physical, I think it can either be a decision or natural, like an animal has the undeniable urge to protect an nurture offspring, to think we actually have a handle on it, is really foolish, beautifully written Terry, blessings Roy

Hi Terry, fun story about love. Not sure I knew what that was until lately. In May it will be fifty years, and let's face it, the infatuation is over and we are still here, so it must be love.

But I understand about your Susan from fourth grade, and the college ones. Well, I was married by the time I went to college, but high school guys I still get a little weak in the legs when I hear from them, as it brings back memories. Nothing serious tho. But kind of a cool feeling that someone can still say things that rattle you for a minute only. Romance is completely different. Love is forever.

Loved your comment about not wearing pajamas, as it made me chuckle. It's always nice to extend those warnings ahead, but now you do realize that you may lay there for weeks, 'cause who is going to go check on you?

You could be so lucky to do like Glen always says, someday we're going to wake up dead.

Yours reminded me of my story about getting up to answer the phone in the middle of the night, naked and not realizing that my husband had friends stay over, who were also running for the phone. I think you started that contest.

I enjoyed your dialogue with your (imaginary? Lol) friend. It had me smiling the whole time. Thanks for the fun read.

If I have to go, I want to fall asleep one night and just not wake up until resurrection occurs. I do have faith that it will occur. My preference is to never taste death at all. Your great post served as a strong reminder of some of my former entanglements, How they happened, and how they ended.

Just so you know, I hate writing dialogue. You do it well, but it drives me looney. It's the grammar of it. I have Grammarly and it still misses stuff. Have a good week. Good work. Karen

Karen, I use Grammarly too. But you know us Texans just talk and think different. Grammarly is always trying to correct me, but they do have a dismiss, which I use frequently. Thanks for reading. Terry.

I use dismiss a lot too!

Outstanding! I simply loved the logic and the dose of humor too. It kept me reading, and enjoying, till the very end. Yes, Yogi Berra said it best...."It ain't over till its over."

I talk to my husband every day... just checking in so he doesn't get roving eyes while waiting for me at heaven's gates.... just kidding, of course. I'll never stop loving him. Awesome story! Good luck in the contest. It's an excellent entry.

Smiles, Carol

Your interjections of humor always make me smile, Terry! I know I've said that before.
This is interesting because you had two women and haven't fallen out of love with either one.
It tells me that a true love like yours and Zoe is in knowing and experiencing togetherness, and the other has fallen closer to the edge of devotion.
Best, JohnC
