I love nature poems and especially ones featuring animals. I have always found the hare to be a fascinating creature that is an excellent example of being able to grow its own winter camouflage. I enjoyed the imagery presented in your creative lines very much.

Thank you Daylily, yes I absolutely agree, I was charmed by this hare and still wonder at its ability to change coats. So magical. Nature is truly wonderful isn?t it?!

How very lovely! I enjoyed this immensely, feeling as if I were watching the hare and the beautiful surroundings! (i hope he finds his spring too. I am charmed again!)

I've seen pictures of the Peak District and it's beautiful. I bet there are some rabbits in the area. What a wonderfully written poem. I wish I had a six for you. Good luck in the contest!

Awww thank you! Isn?t it a joy when the words just appear in your head and urge you to put pen to paper!
There are indeed rabbits in the Peak District, although they often tend to be on the lower slopes and hills, they generally leave the wildness of the moors to the solitary mountain hares.

This is a wonderful poem which causes me to reminisce about a midnight journey through the moors many years ago. Until I read your poem my memory was dark, wet and cold. You have repainted the picture in my mind.
