John,
I bet Dolly is going to love it. My son in law is a great cook and baker I love to eat everything he makes. You offer great information. I love seafood.
Well done!

Hi John, another yummy post. I'm sure that you'll have half of FS going to the market to buy some fish and look for "finocchio" in their local market, but they may have to refer to it as fennel. This younger generation doesn't have a clue. Lol, but true. I prefer to eat grilled fish, oven baked is my least favorite. I hope you enjoyed your wine. I'm sure that Christine will enjoy the recipe. Cheers. Margaret

Margaret. Thank you for this sensational review. I truly appreciate it.
I?ve asked a few other writers today and I?m going ask you for one of your favorite meals or comfort food, breakfast, lunch or dinner. I?d like to create a post at some point based on your likings. I know you?re a great cook with a good palette, so you would give me a challenge. I hope you partake.
Thank you once again.

John, I will think about that one. I like everything. I'm going to try to think of something that I like, but I don't cook at home, but would like to. M

OK. John. Rice balls. I have tried making them, without following a recipe, and trying to remember what the "old-timers" have told me, I've tried them a few times. They came out ok, but not great. I ate them. They were good enough for me, but I wouldn't offer them to a guest. I would make them on Good Friday, and the kids liked them, but they didn't grow-up in the neighborhood that I did, so they wouldn't know a good rice ball if it hit them in the head. Lol, but true. OG made them on 12 News. I don't know if I recorded it or not. I like the ones with the cheese in the middle vs. meat, but both are good. I wouldn't leave either on the plate. I would venture to say that many FS members wouldn't know what they are? M

Honestly. I never had a rice ball until 2002 when I worked some part time hours at an Italian deli in Lincroft.
Those were items my family didn?t make.
But I love?m now!
You got it. One day you?ll have my posted story?

Wow! You never had rice balls until 2002. My sister's in-laws made them the best. Each year, they would say how "they" made them, but like all recipes that are made from memory, a step or ingredient is left out...reason why mine were not so good. Sort of dry.
Another dish that they would bring at Thanksgiving was sauteed mushrooms--wine was in there somewhere. I've had others, but there was the best.
And perhaps your wife can relate to this one, My Polish/Russian Aunt Helen died last year. Each year, her daughter helped her "roll" the poppyseed bread, but she was never there when making the poppy seed filling or dough. She found her mother's hand written recipe, but it reads likes this--some of this, and some of that, a little of something else! My cousin has tried and tried to make "sense" of the recipe, but she could not. She went to the Russian church a town over from her to help the elders make poppy seed bread, and is hoping between her hands-on experience and "mom's" recipe, next year, she will have better success. I sent her a YouTube recipe tutorial.
Ode to the love of food. M
I tip my hat the generations that came before us. They Rocked! M

What am I going to do, John? This is my all-time favourite dish and I can't even reward you with a 6* (my last went last night). I try and hang on and then they're gone so quickly. This is a mouth-watering recipe that I would kill to have served up tonight (no chance!) I love it and the helpful inclusion of different methods of cooking sea bass is a great addition. Thank you so much for sharing. Debbie

Thank you, Debbie. I?m glad this is an appealing dish. I love fish. No worries on the 6, you are a great supporter of my posts and I appreciate it.
Speaking of appreciation ? what foods do you enjoy? Your go to dish? Or comfort dish? Breakfast, Lunch or dinner.
I?m trying to gather info from my favorite writers and surprise them with a creative meal.
Let me know?

This is a great poem/story. Why am I not surprised it is about food? I do not plan to eat sea bass anytime soon. But if by chance I do I know where to get the recipe. I do not see any errors to be corrected. Have a great day.

What a wonderful note you left Christine, John. Although I don't enjoy the fish, I will definitely try it the next time I am in a fish restaurant. I certainly sounds delicious. I am sorry but raw fish do a thing for me- Ceviche. You did very well. Blessings n Peace!!!

What a lovely tribute to Christine (Dolly) and a wealth of knowledge for the budding chefs on the site! I don't eat seafood and this still sounded delicious. The extra dollop of enthusiasm must be the sweetest sauce. :)
